(In BW2010 the Action cost has been axed completely, but I haven't uploaded that chapter yet.)

do my normal figs redshirt for HP loss, or just for death? Can I make it so that they redshirt for HP loss too?

I suppose, because apparently the hero has to decide whether he wants to use redshirts before the damage is rolled. This means that you couldn't know for sure whether the blow was just going to wound you (or not wound you at all), or kill you outright, before you decided to redshirt. Which basically means you can redshirt for any attack.

@ stubs: oh, right. I'll put them on response then, 'cos I haven't resolved the next turn yet. Thanks for the heads up.

Round 2, Turn 2 - Undead (Brikguy)

Count Lightstalker snaps at Landel, but a druid successfully redshirts.

That druid becomes a ghoul.

Skeletons advance (response fire missed) and kill the wargs, losing one of their own in the process.

Skeleton crossbowmen fire a volley into the warbands, but they defend themselves well with their shields.

The giant skeleton tries to reach the wall, but finds the jungle stalker in the way, who hits him in the face for 1 HP damage.

Suddenly native battle cries soar over the field...

Secret faction 2, native furbeasts (Falk), march onto the field to aid the woad elves.

Secret faction 1, high elf overseers (Zahru II), appear behind the undead army moments after. They are here to make sure their undead pawns succeed.

Overview

Zahru and Falk, you can post your orders simultaneously. The furbeasts will go first, then the high elves.

Damage:

Undead giant: 2/3 HP

Undead: 4

Woad Elves: 5

Elves should move up, the archer and the priestess should fire at the jungle stalker. The warrior should attempt a heroic leap, either landing on the stalker, or near enough to it so that he could attack it melee.

Sprint past the Elven cavalry and try to charge the skeletons in front of them if I can, otherwise keep going towards the chariots.

A tribe of Furbeasts, old allies (though occasional rivals) of the Woad Elves, stomp onto the field.

They attempt to rush past the cavalry, though there's little space to do so.

Round 2, Turn 4, High Elves! (Zahru II)

A small group of high elves enter the fray.

Priestess: "The end of the woad elves; a glorious day indeed. Let's make sure our pets do their jobs."

The archer and the priestess attack at range but only equal the jungle stalker's armour.

The warrior runs, tries to leap, but falls flat on his face.

Warbands on the other side lose one of their own while killing two skeletons.

The jungle stalker overpowers the giant skeleton and throws him down, crushing three skeletons below.

The catapult doesn't do enough damage to kill. Nimra tries to turn the bitchy witches against their masters but fails miserably and is zapped for 1 HP of damage.

Landor axes the zombie facing him...

... and then chops one of Count Lightstalker's arms off, also dealing 1 HP of damage to the count.

Count lightstlker bites nimja, the bone giant take a swing at the jungle stalker, the skeletons counterattack the elves, and the whitchs cast a curse one the elves to weaken them.

He bites Nimra, regaining a hitpoint and regenerating his arm, while damaging her.

The elites and Nimra counterattack, but in the vicious melee that follows two elves are cut down.

The giant skeleton slashes the jungle stalker for 1 HP.

Two more skeletons fall to counters.

Then the top squad is obliterated by the crossbowmen.

The grave wraiths kill another woad elf, turning him into a ghoul. A bitchy witch successfully weakens the druids, decreasing their damage by -1. The other tried to do the same to the spearmen but the spell fizzles.

The Warrior should attack the jungle stalker.

The Archer and the High Priestess are to fire at the group of woad elves in the middle, before the horse riders.

Move towards the middle of the map, try to get through between the catapult and the cavalry, then charge the skeletons if I can.

The furbeasts start pushing through to the front lines. The battlefield is a little bit tight.

Round 3, Turn 4 - High Elves (Zahru II)

The warrior picks himself up and slashes at the Jungle Stalker.

He deals a lot of damage (two crits!) and actually manages to kill it. The jungle stalker collapses, kicking him away, but he survives it.

The archer also headshots a druid.

Heads up!

So, while this is working out rather well, I also find it's a little bit slow. So let's try something else.

We keep the fixed turn order (Woad Elves - Undead - Furbeasts - High Elves) but everyone posts their orders (in that order). That way I can do the whole round in one go but everyone can still post their orders with at least a relatively good idea of what's going to happen before their turn.

Just one rule: no editing.

Damage:

Undead giant: 2/3 HP
Nimra: 1/3 HP
Count Lightstalker: 3/3 HP
Jungle Stalker: 0/3 HP

Archers focus on Count Lightstalker, Elites and Nimra attack him, if Landor or Nimra are attacked, a nearby unit should redshirt for them (this doesn't take an action, contrary to popular belief) Nimra should use her feat to raise the Tree Giant by draining the lifeforce from the nearby plants. Landor should use his feat to leap onto the Ice Giant and axe-hijack him for a turn, this should deal damage and allow Landor to make the Ice Giant bodyslam the crossbow squad. Catapult fire on Witchy Bitches, all melee units move up and attack, charging when applicable.
