Bleywell Security, Incorporated

Post by Spectrar Ghost » Sun May 10, 2015 9:37 pm

BS Inc. is a division of the Helliburton conglomerate specializing in the defense of private interests by force. Bleywell forces can face resistance ranging from Peachies laying in the road to NegaHumans with heavy weapons and air support, so they need easily reconfigurable and durable vehicles. They have a variety of combat vehicles modified from vehicles produced by Helliburton Vehicle and Automotive Company, HVAC. All their heavy vehicles are drawn from the HVAC-25 family of trucks. Once modified with armored cabs and cargo bays, weapon mounts, and MRAP hulls, they are known as the BS25 family.

The BS25 family of armored trucks consists of a skateboard chassis consisting of the drivetrain inside an MRAP v-hull, a cab and engine, and a rear hardpoint capable of accepting troop bays (BS25 series), a flatbed (BS20 series), or a heavy weapons mount (BS30 series). The BS50 series replaces this hardpoint with a hitch for an articulated trailer. The BS15 utility trailer mates to a hitch on all BS20, BS25, and BS30 vehicles.

The primary APC Bleywell uses is the BS25m1 Chevalier, with a crew of one, 6-man capacity, and twin .50cal Autocannon turret on the roof of the cargo compartment.

[My physical models are color-mismatched and slightly out of date - I've redesigned the rear of the cab recently - but I'm in the middle of a move so my collection is scattered to the four winds. Enjoy these renders before I show you the real thing.]

Hey!
That is a pretty impressive set of FMTVs you have there.
I especially like the one that resembles the HIMARS vehicle.
Not too keen on the orange color for tactical vehicles, but otherwise :666: !
Rock on... 8)

I love that truck so much. It's awesome that more people are coming up with new mods for it.

Thanks! I'm happy with the MLRS too. You can't tell in the render, but the rocket pod is studs out at both ends; I've got 2x4 tiles attached to pairs of inverted angle plates on the inside. This allowed me to put proper exhaust vents on the rear of the pod.

The orange is in keeping with the color scheme of the arctic sets the infantry is drawn from.

Nice job.... I like the truck with the 105mm gun the most.
Mnds are like parachutes. Just because you've lost yours doesn't mean you can borrow mine.

After several months of chaos... Update!

Mostly incremental stuff, but it's a start.
Image
This BS25m1a has finally gotten the up-armored cab shown in the renders - or as close as parts allow.

Image
Meanwhile, this Interdictor has shed it's crew station for a fully automated cannon, again per the specs in the renders.

Image
It's actually been converted to a BS30m1b, with a new model of cab. The Type 25b cab is no better armored or cheaper than the Type 25a, but the engine compartment is easier to access which provides a substantial cost savings in mechanics, particularly in combat situations.

Image
Image
The other Type 25a cab currently adorns a new chassis, white this time, with a simplified passenger compartment I'm trying out. The new compartment reduces the parts count by a third. The turret is not permanent; it's a spare from elsewhere.

Image
Of course, when traffic is snarled on your super secret mission, you need a Super Secret Police escort.

Not Bleywell colored (yet) but I got 60093 Deep Sea Helicopter today and did some slight mods from stock. It's actually a great little chopper, a mash-up of the CH-47 Chinook with a few features more reminiscent of the CH-46 Sea Knight. A working winch, three acess points, and 2 4x6 cargo areas complete the package. There were really very few things to do. The fuselage was held a tad high for my taste, and the rotors were spindly looking due to the construction method.

First, I removed one of the 2x2 coupling plates from each of the landing gear. This not only lowered the fuselage, the plate of free space gives a nice impression of suspension when setting down or lifting off. I need to look at my options for lowering the rotors, in the mean time I've beefed them up with inverted roofs as the hydraulics. Finally, I added a refueling probe and FLIR pod.

The set also includes a new-to-me shark with printed eyes (all mine came with the original pirate sets and aquanauts, IIRC) and a nice submersible. The submersible is yellow.
