Warning, this is really long.
It is a fairly normal day at the humble home and smithy of Cederic, the famous warrior. He tends the forge with his wife Aldyth and their children, Ella and Irving.
As Cederic drinks his morning chicken wing, he watches Irving, a misshapen lad just past 12, frolic in the stream. He wonders bitterly how he could produce such a rotten thing. "It's probably Aldyth's family," he thinks.
The bones of a small ork advance party dry in the sun, their lifeless forms hanging from bloodstained spears outside the forge, a warning to anyone else who would mess with Cederic.
Aldyth comes outside, meaning to call Ella into the house when she is startled by the sounds of a thunderous host.
The Dragon King, Keaton Hawk Master, has brought with him a large cavalry force to halt the advance of Robbart. He wields the cleverly named Excalispear from his warhorse. Behind him rides his son and heir Wymer, barbarous and unholy.
Advancing with the Dragon cavalry come a small force of Grek infantry. Ares and Apollo lead the company which includes the heroes Akanthus and Demosthenes from the Three Cornered Way.
As if orchestrated by a malevolent force, the forces of Robbart arrive to the field. He brings with him new armies bought with stolen gold.
