Chilled to the Bone [HH Winner 2015]
Ken and his ice golem companion make it to a small camp somewhere deeper in the Crags of Lorne. It is there that Ken meets a small group of Frostborne warriors and a few smaller men that he soon recognized were dwarves. At first, Ken’s arrival is met with suspicion, as a trio of men above in a watch tower train their instruments on him.
A man accompanied by a dwarf approach him.
"Ken!" The man greets, "you're alive?!"
"Well of course," Ken replied, "who are you?"
"I'm Kaptain Urgus, and this here is--"
"--Ohrim Gravelgrinder, of the Gravelgrinder clan!"
"Wow, I didn't know there were dwarves this far north," Ken said inquisitively.
"Neither did we until a few weeks ago," said Urgus. He explains that it has been nearly a month since Ken's disappearance at Pinewood, and since that time, Frostborne had slowly extended their borders and had discovered a clan of dwarves mining somewhere under the Crags. The Frostbornians were awed by the dwarves’ machinery and within a few days of careful negotiation, had established trade relations and even the beginning of an alliance. With their help, and under Jarl Barbous’s approval, Frostborne began extensive research, almost exclusively on the uses of gunpowder.
"Gods, what a beast of a machine!" Ken gaped when Urgus pointed out the results. These results included the massive contraption sitting behind the camp that they called the “Mammoth Siege-Sleigh”.
As well as the muskets that the men in the watchtower had sported.
The group turns around to notice that the golem had left.
"Yeti shit," grumbled Urgus, "there goes the Mammoth's only source of propulsion."
"Uh," replied Ken, "that's not the only thing we should be worried about."
"Awh hell," mutters Ohrim.
Only a short distance away, an army of undead are amassing.
As if skeletons amassing under organized ranks wasn't bizarre enough, a single member of the bony warriors seemed to stood out from the rest. "Time to kill us some fuckboys!" It shrieked with a shrill, ghostly voice.
Something else stood out almost as much as the hatted skeleton. To Ken's dismay, the QuantumStalker seemed to be leading them.
"...Now ̡I ͡c͜o̵m͜e͜t̀h͜ wi͠th ̴you͝r ͘nęx̕t̨ ̵u҉l̴t̕i̢mat͞um
A͞cco͡mpa̶n̕i̵e̡d ̢by ͠b̵o͢nes ͜án̕d ̷ca̕lc͢i͞um͞...."
"I can still barely understand what that guy's saying," Ken observed mostly to himself, but Urgus and Ohrim were too transfixed by their opposition to hear him.
Overview.
More to be added soon!

Re: [HH] Chilled to the Bone
The undead move up, some getting decent sprint rolls while others not so much.
One dead horseman winds up getting an ice sprint roll, but the damage against Urgus nearly critfails. "Ha! Is that all you can muster?" The skeleton horseman stays silent out of shame.
The QuantumStalker charges up it's staff and prepares a Heroic feat.
A squad of Draugr are teleported to the other side of the battlefield. Feat successful!
Frostborne goes on the offensive and take down a mounted skeleton and his bony horse.
The three musketeers in the watchtower combine fire on the skeleton ecto-pikemen, but only take one of them out.
Ken forges ahead to hide behind a rocky outcropping and awaits the undead to come nearer.
Suddenly, a small group of warriors with unknown intentions appear on a cliff nearby.
"What? How did we get here?" One of the heavy-armored warriors asks.
"Oh, by the Fallen... I must have messed up the portal sequence somewhere. We're way off course," said the leader of the small taskforce.
"Can you fix it?" Asked one of the unicorn brigade cultists.
"I can, but it may take some time."

Re: [HH] Chilled to the Bone
The ecto-pikemen charge into Frostborne's frontlines. They absolutely massacre over half a squad of swordsmen, crits all around.
Skeleton archers take some shots at Ken, but their rolls are so low that he doesn't even notice he almost turned into a pincushion.
This group of undead crossbowmen move up to the base of a cliff and set up response fire.
They are joined by more skeleton warriors.
Another band of undead move up to Frostborne's frontlines, but don't have enough move to make attacks.
The QuantumStalker attempts another feat, but he crifails and falls off his outcropping.
"Doot! Doot!"
The hatted skeleton tries to boost the Stalker, but he's a bit too late to be of any use.
The draugr move up, slowly but surely.
"We've got company, take them out!"
"Gaagghh!"
Even with the high ground, the aim of the crossbowmen strikes true.
His heavy body however crushes a skeleton.
The mages try to cast a protective spell, but their purplemancing wands fizzle and only produce rude fart-noises.
Their leader uses her feat to open a portal out of the battle, but she fails to do anything.

Re: [HH] Chilled to the Bone
Frostborne rangers move into range and make short work of three skeleton axemen.
Musketeers pick off another pikeman.
The surviving swordsmen rally and swing at the pikemen, but to no avail.
Ohrim joins the fray by grabbing a fallen axe and burying it in the nearest skeleton.
Swordsmen plow through the remainder of the squad of axemen.
The melee by the Mammoth progresses slowly, only a single Draugr falls.
The Siege-Sleigh fires it's giant cannon.
KA-BOOM!
It's safe to say the Mammoth critted pretty decently.
When the smoke clears, Ken climbs up the cliff and takes out an archer, tossing it's bones to the ground.
Crossbowmen shoot down another heavy warrior of the mysterious faction, his body falling short of crushing any more of the skeletons.
More undead swarm up the cliffside.
the last mounted skeleton charges down a swordsman.
While the pikemen put the another couple out of their misery.
"Hey, fuckboy! You may like this."
"What the hell is a fuckboy?"
The hatted skeleton plays his trumpet with nonexistent lips.
The negative boost disrupts Ken, he simply doesn't even.
Meanwhile, the mysterious Agent tries for another portal-making feat.
She fails so hard that she ends up disrupted as well.
The remaining heavies jump off the ramp to avoid any more uncoming crossbow fire.
Meanwhile the unicorn mages grab hold of their disrupted hero.
And carry her off the cliff to safety.
The battle thus far after the third round...

Re: [HH] Chilled to the Bone
Frostborne swordsmen dispatch the last horseman.
The musketeers reload and fire as a single unit.
And are still slowly chipping away at the pikemen, another one biting the snow.
Kaptain Urgus tries firing his pistol, but it criftails and he drops it. "Yowch! Bloody hell, that stings like crazy!"
Meanwhile the Mammoth's crew are busy reloading the cannon. "We've only got two shots left, boss!"
"Arrghh, then we'll make 'em count!" Growls the cannoneer.
Rangers pick off another pikeman, leaving two left.
Ken gets up, forgetting that he used his action to stand in the first place, and somehow winds up tumbling down the ramp.
"Looks liek some1 needs stronk bones."
"What does that even mean..?" Ken asked through a face full of snow.
The Stalker sees an opportunity and decides to strike.
He misses by a hair.
The surviving pikemen spot easier prey and move off away from the fray.
They charge into a purplomancer but don't do any sufficient damage.
The heated melee only results in one more casualty, this time an Icebreaker.
More warriors swarm the mountainside.
The agent raises and manages to whip up a magical shield, keeping them from any further harm for the turn.
The heavies regroup behind them.

Re: [HH] Chilled to the Bone
Kaptain Urgus grabs his pistol and guns down a skeleton.
The rangers behind him back him up and take care of the last pikeman.
The heavy melee turns slightly more interesting, in that one of the Draugr lose interest and moves in to hack at the Mammoth.
As expected, his axe only leaves a dent in the siege-sleigh's armor.
Ken gets tired of falling and swings at the Stalker, who easily parries.
"Stop right there!" Kaptain Urgus commands, pointing his pistol at the force of strangers. "Who are you lot, friend or foe?"
Urgus stands with his pistol trainned on their winged leader, letting them decide on a reponse as the rangers behind move closer.
The faction's hero tries another feat of teleportation, this time finally resulting in success. Urgus fired a shot in as they withdrew, but he might as well be shooting smoke. "Damn..."
"Fuck up those fuckboys, Mr. Skeltal demands it!"
Inspired, the crossbowmen are given a bonus to their damage rolls, resulting in the deaths of several more Frostbornians.
A Chorus of "Thank Mr. Skeltal!" resonates from the skeleton's vocal-chordless mouths.
The Stalker deals a hard blow, but Ken wards against it.
Warriors reach the edge of the cliff, they are not totally dissatisfied to find their earlier adversaries had vanished.
Instead, they overwhelm and kill Kaptain Urgus before he could defend himself.
In response, Frostborne rangers kill the undead responsible for their Kaptain's death.
Ken and his QuantumStalker counterpart circle one another, each daring the other to make the next move.
Doot! Doot!
"Mr. Skeltal has been appeased! The fuckboy bloodshed on this field of battle has pleased our lord and master! Farewell, fuckboys!"
With that, the hatted skeleton makes one more Doot! before disappearing. The rest of the undead seem to vanish along with their hatted guardian.
Enraged, the QuantumStalker swings it's deadly blade to catch Ken in it's teeth. Ken barely bails out of the way of the powerful attack. Before anything else could take place, the Stalker too dissipates from existence yet again.
Ken raises from the snow and sets his gaze to where the Stalker had been just seconds ago. He's joined by surviving swordsmen who seem equally perplexed.
"So, sir," one of the swordsmen projects, "what was all that about?"
"That's a good question," Ken could only reply.
"Unfortunately, I'm not sure I really know the answer..."

I want to admit that I take credit for Mr. Skeltal disrupting Ken in such a fashion. Hehehe

Pretty much a perfect entry. The battle itself is fantastic, but the presentation is also top notch with the pictures and writing being clear and easy to follow. This battle also has the best representation of the Skeleton War. Good work!
