Is anyone watching the Dragon naked girl torture show? WTF is this? I dunno if I want to drop it or keep watching. It's such a train wreck.

So yesterday, thanks to hijinks and drama involving Model UN, I got dumped into my school's anime club. It was nice to talk about anime with people IRL other than my parents, for once. They played (subtitled) Noragami, which didn't really interest me, but I guess their options are limited given they have can't play nonkosher anime at school.

Kosher Anime

Customer: "Hello, are these bagels Kosher?"
Baker: "What? how dare you question my bagels. Who the hell do you think I am!! "
Kid: * a high school kid with a katana bursts into the room * "Hey have you guys seen a temptress demon?"
Baker: "The only tempting thing in this bakery are my low low prices!"
Evil Bagel: "Now you shall all die!!"
Customer: " I knew it! There is no way that bagel is kosher!"
Baker: "With my evil bagel army I shall rule the world! I chose you Evil Bagel, ATTACK !!"

Nice.

Since my HIgh school is a Four "A" school with about 2,000 students in attendence, we don't really have many prominent clubs (The ones that ARE prominent are ROTC (Me), Band, Choir, The sports clubs, and DECA). Anime groups are people sitting at lunch tables, discussing animes.

Due to the ironically high number of bisexual girls in Texas, most of these topics always float away to Black Butler season 2 (vomit) or Yuri / Yaoi.

Also, how many episodes of Noragami did you watch? That may depend on you not finding the series interesting.

All you need are lolis, incest, and backstory about the protagonist's brother being turned into an evil bagel. During the final battle, the bagel switches sides and allows himself to be eaten by the protagonist so that he's powered up to beat the baker.
This sig is too fucking large: show anyway

This right here defines the entire human condition.

This is a high school thing, not a Texas thing. Yes, things outside of your bubble happen to other people too, and it is actually quite normal!

I don't think Vami knows what bisexual means.

I would watch the Kosher anime but I also don't think you guys know what Kosher laws are. It'd be pretty hard to make a non-Kosher bagel. It's more the schmear that could potentially be non-Kosher

@natalya I think I got it
Spoiler
Show
It's a retelling of Noah's Ark except instead of the dove returning with the olive branch it doesn't. I.E. God doesn't forgive humanity for their sins. I think the guy probably represents Cain or at least the evil in man. He even says "You can't know what's inside an egg unless you break it open." which is a selfish, evil act. The girl is MAYBE an actual Angel sent by god to test humanity and see if they're worth saving yet. At the very least there were a lot of biblical overtones in the story even if it's not as deep as I'm trying to go with it.
Gota remember the animation is done by Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D, all the good Final Fantasys) so it can really also just exist as an excuse to check out how awesome his artwork is.

@vami
Don't call me -san. It's Mr. I can't understand why we let this -san shit remain untranslated when there is a clear, well-defined English alternative.

The addition of evil demon DNA to bagels would make them not kosher, ask any Buddha.
See, I know what I'm doing :D

H Why all this goddamn anime?

Post by Maverick » Sun Oct 19, 2014 1:12 pm

I go on here every day or so, and usually there is new posts in General Discussion. But it's just more fucking anime. I can't be bothered to check it (because noone responds to trollbait) or mark topics read. Can someone make an anime subforum?

I propose Maverick as the mod for the Anime subforum. I can't see any potential problems.
