Tzan's got it right. Anoraks are a strange variety of completely unintentional trolls. For the most part they don't even realize they're ruining everyone else's fun, or at least don't see how it's relevant. They're a weird combination of being very enthusiastic and involved with what everyone else is doing, while simultaneously oblivious to everyone else's feelings about their meddling with it.

Anoraks are completely redeemable if you can steer them away from wrecking other people's toys and keep them focused on making their own stuff. Then their natural enthusiasm can put them among the most productive and exciting contributors in a group. It's only when they start to think of themselves as authorities on other people's stuff that they have to be reined in.
