Well the thing is, it's pretty rare that both of them coincide. There could be a Break Shit cliche hero wielding Thor's Hammer to break a wall, or a Techie cliche hero wielding the JESUSCHRISTTHISISDANGEROUS space laser, but there isn't much versatility
Will vehicles be able to be Heroic? Even ones without Minds?

I would say the versatility favors certain cliches over others. A wizard, for instance, who wields a heroic wand would be able to exploit the rule as most of her feats (magically related) coincide with the wand. Or a Jet-Eye cliche with a beam-saber will get somewhat more mileage our of a heroic one than say Thor with the hammer. The more a cliche can be defined by a specific item (Ace Pilot if say vehicles can count) the more exploitation that can/may occur.Keldoclock wrote:Well the thing is, it's pretty rare that both of them coincide. By the default rules, Heroic Feats are... just slightly better than a coin-flip for whether they succeed/fail, right? The extra dice certainly is potent, but it doesn't strike me as out of line at all.

The balancing factor is that your Hero's just painted a big target on himself, and once they've killed him, the enemies can take the Heroic Weapon for themselves.Ham701 wrote:Maybe later I'll go back and fully read, but the Heroic Weapons feature is pretty nice. But it might be too powerful with 2 dice rolled instead of one.
Absolutely - "Heroic Weapons are the most common type of Heroic Artifakt, but any object can be made Heroic for an added cost of +3CP." I should put some examples in to make that more clear.Keldoclock wrote:Will vehicles be able to be Heroic? Even ones without Minds?
The odds of success on 1d6 vs. 1d6, ties going to the Hero, are 58%. The odds for either of 2d6 beating the 1d6, ties going to the Hero, are 74%. It's a respectable boost but not an unstoppable one.All-Bricks United wrote:By the default rules, Heroic Feats are... just slightly better than a coin-flip for whether they succeed/fail, right? Maybe vehicles that have won many battle-honors. Rynn's Might (from Warhammer 40,000) and the Red Baron's triplane (from Real Life) come to mind.Rayhawk wrote:Absolutely - "Heroic Weapons are the most common type of Heroic Artifakt, but any object can be made Heroic for an added cost of +3CP." Also, the mini-table of contents on the 2010 Heroes page is suffering from a lack of Section 6.4.
Heuristic ALgorithmic AFOL.

Oh I'm thinking more like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. Think back to the eighties and you'll remember tons of Hero Vehicles: Airwolf, KITT, the Millenium Falcon... okay well at least three.HAL-9001 wrote:Maybe vehicles that have won many battle-honors. Other examples could be Mad Max's car, the Delorean from BTTF, Herbie, or more recently the car from Supernatural (incoming "omg dapper" wave).Rayhawk wrote:Oh I'm thinking more like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. And the list of heroic non-weapon wieldable objects is nearly endless. Indy's hat, Jack Sparrow's compass, the light staff from 9, the bracelet from The Mummy, etc.

...
And now I'm off to go re-watch that (awesome) miniseries again.
Rayhawk: Any ETA for some of the as-of-yet unreleased sections? Even if they're not completed or finalized, most of those are what I'm most interested to see and provide feedback on.

A couple of things could happen:
6. Rayhawk rushes everything and gets it done just in time but knowing that he is lazy or as he calls it "busy" he probably won't.
7.Rayhawk will finish the rulebook somewhere in 2011 and search thru the rulebook and change 2010 to 2011 everywhere he wrote it, but knowing he is lazy he probably won't
8.Rayhwak finishes the rulebook somewhere in 2011 (maybe even 2012) and still claim that it was finished in 2010 and knowing he is lazy and that this is Brikwars he probably will.
