http://androidarts.com/legoproject/

Most of you have already seen it, being that Stubhawk has updated the main page(*gaspeth*) but if you haven't-

Go read it.

Now.

This guy has addressed every single issue I've ever had with Lego. Bear in mind that those issues have been very, very few. It's a highly entertaining read with ideas for sets and parts that would be PERFECT. Read it.

He has some great ideas, but I dislike his new minifigure idea. I think it's unneeded.

Yeah, it looks like bionicles. That's something I could do without.

Looking over it now I think that while the creations he designed are really cool, he's showing a tendency to prefer larger, more specialized pieces that are harder to take apart and rebuild into custom creations. LEGO hasn't always designed great sets, but they've always been careful to include a relatively low number of "useless" pieces which are hard to use in a custom design.

even so, some of the pieces he designed would be quite useful.
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

I've been thinking that they need to make a plate with studs on both sides for a while now. Imagine what you could do with a 1x2 or 1x4 of that.

I like his minifig design, and the ideas for the various aliens.

I demand those chibi-styled minigals to be released as sets... with tentacle aliens as adversaries.

wow some of those would be truly epic for mech building and other assorted part the mini-figure design is really nice but if you you started doing this to some of lego it would start to turn into megablocks i much admit megablocks does have some really cool stuff but all way to specialized and the quality of the plastic is not that good

I've been hoping that they introduce some of the parts he propose for a while now (especially the inverter ring).

The new minifig look appealing but if I remember correctly, lego already tried to introduce a new style of minifig in the past only to trash it and keep the original. The short period of time while it was produced seems to indicate that it was not a success...

Lego can't change the minifig now, it's part of the "trade dress" that legally distinguishes Lego from lesser bricks. The articulated minifigs were part of Scala, a separate line, and were way too expensive to produce for that line to ever hit its profit margins.

I'unno about the rest of you, but if there's ever a third company or something that creates lego miniatures like those with apposable joints, i'm taking them.

Lego Figures are an icon and will always hold a place in my heart, but in the battlefield, the ability to actually hold a rifle with a stock is nice.

Except the "chibi" though. I'm not a fan of chibi. Darn Japanese....I think More Americans love Japan than Japanese love Japan!

I thought the scala figs were the same as belville?

if 20 chickens can fit in a brick, how many pingpongballs does a crocodile have to eat so it can swim faster than a washing machine?
