Just bought four serie 5 minifig. Got two more dwarves (had one already), a dino costume and the snowboarder.

along with this set, which I think is worth mentioning:

Saw it at the store for the first time and couldnt resist. Lots of useful parts (at least for my current needs) and the much wanted Sword of Fire!

Why not?

I buy a set from time to time and I usually grab a couple of random minifig at the same time then I work with what I have. I guess the day I will need something specific I'll just go and have some fun with the bags as you suggest

Basically because I don't want a fitness chic, graduate, snowboard douche, or detective. I'd much rather have an evil dwarf, Egyptian queen, or gladiator.

For example; I want the evil dwarf above all else... I'm not going to grab randomly hoping I get it and end up with three fitness chics and a snowboard dude. That would be a waste of my money IMHO because I could just spend some time and feel up the bags until I had 4 dwarfs.

I'm not saying grabbing blindly is wrong... It just seemed like a foreign concept to me and I didn't understand why people would do it. Now I can see that some people don't mind what they get. In fact some might like the anticipation of not knowing what it is and the surprise of opening it!

Well, for one, the snowboard dude head is very useful Imo, as is the hat. But still, if you don't like it that's your choice. I personally go for a mix of both, feeling some up and then maybe grabbing a couple extra randomly.
