It's a pipecleaner, though that reminds me, i should of checked the box for any bugs when i took it inside... oh well too late, and the door was open any way.
I have tryed to change them before. only things that look better than the white are grey legs or dark blue legs both of which i have very few of and since white works fine i don't want to order some.
sooo, any body have any helpfull ideas on things to change?

I'm aware that you said the cart was an afterthought, but it definitely needs a bit of work. Right now it's just a platform on wheels, first step I'd suggest is some sort of siding on it, then maybe a flag and a proper-looking seat for the driver.

yeah, the cart is just a simple after though when i realised that cannons would need ammo and the army beer.
The way the horse pulls the cart is quite poor.
the driver has a slightly raised seat and their is a back to the seat, their is also an unloading step at the back of the cart.
I could make it wider to carry more loads but it might look stupid being pulled by a single horse.
A flag is a grand idea! i'll include that!
I have improved the cart, i made it one stud wider (makeing it 5 wide), raised the seat and made the ladder flow better.

If you're making an army of British redcoats, well... that's what British redcoats look like, so they don't really need any changes. They're already as British redcoat as they'll ever be. Although the pipecleaner does help personalize the group.muffinman42 wrote:I have tryed to change them before. only things that look better than the white are grey legs or dark blue legs both of which I have very few of and since white works fine I don't want to order some.

If you want to make them look more original and impressive overall (if that's one of your goals), then aoffan's got the right idea - the place to focus is on the cannons and carts, where you have a lot more freedom for personal interpretation. And then if you want to impress people (again, if that's one of your goals) then you reshoot the photos to showcase the features you're most proud of.
When I do cannons, I like to give the cannon crews all kinds of related accessories depending on the imagined type of cannon - usually one sponge-and-rammer stick per crew, some gunpowder barrels, spare cannonballs, and a torch (though I don't think they used torches to light fuses in real life, I like them for my games).
Actually now that I think of it, if you do want to change the minifigs a little, it might be cool to change just the cannon crews' uniforms and leave the regular troops alone - artillerymen usually had a distinct uniform compared to everyone else.

yeah since theirs only going to be 4 cannon crew and i can't find a 4th torso custom torsos might be a way.
i've upgraded the cart and just need to find a longer axle for it.
I might not get photos today, hopefully tomorrow.

Now that stubby brought up the cannons, I've gotta say I like the way you did yours. You didn't use the standard piece as a base, took me a bit to figure out how you did it. Nice.

Since we've been going on about 18th and 19th century armies for some time now already here's an interesting site: http://totalwar.honga.net/empire_units.php?f=britain
You can find the units all the superpowers and smaller powers alike used on there as well as various kinds of artillery you might try to make. Sadly, the game only runs on to 1799 and I haven't been able to find an alike site on Napoleon Total War. Especially the French army was much more interesting in Napoleon's time. However legendary units such as the Green Jackets, Rogers' Rangers and the Black Watch are on there. My personal favourite, the Polish Lancers, must have come later, though there are alike units ('Uhlans' the Prussian army, you can only recruit them in Poland).
