Legavan Empire assault force

Post by trebnos1 » Sat Apr 24, 2010 4:02 pm

The Legavan Empire is determined to eradicate the last of Those Jerks, along with the strange being called S'Lark, a mighty creature whom the Jerks seem to revere. To this end, the Empire has prepared a force of elite troops to shatter the remnants of the renegade force.
Recently, however, the Empire has recieved disturbing reports of other factions assisting the Jerks; creating an even greater necessity for efficiency.

The Legavan assault force.

On the left, a squad of troopers waits with their commander to embark on the mighty Thunderclap dropship (I tried to build a 40k ThunderHawk and it came out... a little odd). Immediately to the right of the dropship is a Guardian-class hardsuit. On the right side of the picture are two assault mechs, the primary firepower of the assault, as well as the elite squad of commandos who will be charged with clearing a drop zone for the Thunderclap.

Image
The Subjugator-class Assault Mech, armed with a heavy laser rack, two homing missiles, two swivel-mounted gatling guns, a dual bolter cannon, and a long-barrelled minigun.

Image
A close-up of the Subjugator. I'm really happy with how this came out.

Image
The Longbow-class Assault Mech boasts a massive MAT Cannon, as well as a repeating bolter on the other "arm," twin grenade launchers on the right torso, and a rangefinder on the left torso. I literally threw this together with some random pieces I happened to have left over, so it didn't come out quite as well as some of the other stuff.

Image
The first half of the Legavan commando squad. From left to right, there's the scout, callsign Twitch, on his speeder, the hero, Krazed Kate, toting a handheld autocannon and chainsaw, Blue, with his machine pistol and chainstaff, and Pyre holding his double-barreled shot cannon (I tried out a new pauldron idea with him, at least I think it's new, because I've never seen it used before. It worked out fairly well).

Image
Okay, so that was actually 4 tenths of the commandoes. Here's another four. On the far left is the unit's assassin, Ray, with two laser pistols and a beskar katana, next to Trig with his two chain pistols, and the Jett twins with their blaster rifles and cutlasses.

Image
Finally, Clang and Tomtom, sporting chainswords, jetpacks, and laser pistols.

Image
The grunts, reading to board the dropship at a moment's notice.

Image
The Guardian hardsuit. Some of you may recognize the weapon in his left hand from one of my earlier Brikwars.

Last but not least, the Thunderclap. I'm really, really happy with this one. It's based, as I mentioned off of the Thunderhawk gunship from Warhammer 40k, with some obvious changes. It does fit minifigs inside; there's a drop-ramp at the back.

Well, there it is. What do you think?

Very nice, mini-warhead recognised the gunship for what it was immediately. I like the mecha very much.

You have a gift for finding those...
And thanks. I really like those mini-cape fabrics; I cannibalized those two off of a Palpatine fig.

Palpatine eh? I was wondering where those were from. The dark red goes great with the black and white, sadly I only have two orange and black sandtrooper ones, and I have yet to find a minifig that looks good with them.

Vehicles, good, Minifigs, Not so much, some of the minifigs are alright but we have about a billion armies based of the starwars minfigs now.

I think my brother got Palpatine with the Venator set, if I remember correctly. I swapped him for those later.

The Thunderclap is amazing. Now for the true question. Can the Space Marine fit in?

Those vehicles are awesome. You need a suitable ground force to go along with them though.

yea and trebnos, just in case you don't know by now, peaches (I can hardly say that word without feeling sick.) and Yellows (Ho Rah!) never, and that REALLY means NEVER, work together. Peaches,(*pukes in trash can*) tourcher Yellows, and Yellows exterminate peaches(YAY!)
Just letting you know.

Lol, I knew this was going to come up.
This is a rare instance where yellows and peaches have decided to work together towards the end of mutual validation through carnage. The Legavan Empire is famed for bringing the two races together, though there are whispers of a violent schism in the making
Plastic racism truly is a beautiful thing.
@Ross: I know what you mean. It would have been nice to throw in a tank or two, but the whole point of this force was that it's supposed to be small and fast-moving. Next time I may try for a larger force.
@Massam: Sadly, that is the one flaw of this craft. The Space Marine can fit in, but I have to remove a couple of layers of armor plating to insert him and he can't get back out :?
I may try building a bigger one later.

What I like most about your stuff is that you put so many weapons on everything, makes it all look much cooler. The subjugator is probably my favourite. Cool name also.
