FELC Overhaul

Post by RagnarokRose » Sat May 22, 2010 6:33 pm

I just realized that orange pants suck.

Therefore, after overhauling my sigfig, I decided last night to redo the entire FELC, being my first and, perhaps, best Brikwars faction, and make them look a bit more badass. This may have the unintended side-effect of making them look a bit like Natalay's and two other faction's troopers. I honestly don't care. It makes them look cool.

The new FELC. Orange pants go to black, and I put black helmets on a lot more guys.

From left to right- Anti-Armor Lance Cannon, Mechanic with SI-101 assault rifle and welder, Trooper with AI-10 basic infantry rifle, Heavy with ATI-9 combo rifle and anti-armor RPG, and a Preppd (Plasma Reflector Projection Dish), and Sigfig Hero Admiral Ross with custom OTC lance. (Capable of conversion into sniper rifle, whenever I get together a Pizza Hurt truck... :P )

Image

(My camera's viewscreen sucks, I swear. This would look better otherwise)
Left to right- Unique Champion Class Scythe Trooper, with said scythe, Jetpack Trooper with ASI-8 sniper rifle, Melee Class Trooper with dual Saber conversion devices and a SI-2 pistol on back, and another Trooper with AI-10.

Closeup of AA Lance Cannon and Mechanic.

That's all for now. I'll post stats later. C&C welcome, and I know, the quality sucks. But hey, take what you get, I didn't procrastinate this time...

I don't know how they previously were, but I can imagine, and having orange pants makes ´em look like train crew, or construction workers, or trash truck drivers... iunno, they look cool now 8)

They're very cool but the combination of a Jetpack and a Sniper Rifle seems... inacurate.

Why? In Mechwarrior you can take a 100 ton mech with jumpjets, jump over hills and snipe people with magnetically accelerated rounds of doom. Why can't infantry do it?

I say Rule of Cool applies here. Besides, all the good sniping spots are way high up anyways, so that pack would come in handy for getting into position, if not necessarily for use while firing.

I know what you mean about the Sniper Rifle/Jetpack thing but there has been a precedence set for the use of heavy or long ranged troops with Jet Packs. The Dark Eldar Scourge for one. I also believe the novel (not the film) for Star Ship Troopers also used Jet Packs and each infantryman had enough firepower to level a city each. There are also various other novels I've read that I could mention if I could only recall their names.

I'd say jetpack goes with submachine guns and carbines. The carbine with perhaps a medium magnification scope would work with a jetpack, even if it was semi-automatic, a jetpack would help a troop get to a position to take shots at the unaware enemies.

Are you kidding? Jetpacks go well with EVERYTHING. I promise you that you will never be able to find a good reason not to make one of your troopers able to fly, no matter what weapons he's carrying. I have an army right now composed of nothing BUT jetpack troops.

Anyways this is a great army. It's a little short on basic riflemen but then, who isn't? The whole group manages to stay true to a theme while giving us a lot of unique individual soldiers. Awesome work.

Thanks everyone. As for jetpack snipers... I personally find it a pain in the ass in SW Battlefront whenever I play sniper classes to have to find certain killzone paths to sniping positions. I would rather have a combo-jetpack/sniper class.

Plus, the height bonus make him more of a sniper... :D

As for the troopers- I'm collecting some cash to set aside for a raid on Bricklink's stock. I'll have more troopers before the year is out.

I am, in fact. That will take a bit as well though. I've got some plans in the works.
