I thought it was pretty good actually. Sort of a mix of 1984 with the moves from The Matrix.

Awesome videos. I liked the first one. But I think it would be too darn complicated to integrate into a Brikwar. maybe a good heroic feat though.
And that fictional gun up there is obviously a modified Beretta 92F.

I've been thinking of watching Equilibrium. I've got a soft spot for Dystopian settings and someone I don't know recommended it to me a while back.

Not really, if you read the wikipedia article, you'd have noticed that its about being where the gun is most likely NOT to be pointed, not just dodging bullets.
Needless to say, spriting this for one of my CO characters over on the Sprite Wars.
Also, Ultraviolet is fine too.

Not gun-kata but the style of the movie.

Since there's not much in the way of rules so far, I'll throw my two cents to stir up some ideas.
How about beany pool for the gun kata user. Each round, he gets a number of beany equal to a skill roll. When the gun kata user is attacked, he can use the beanies to reduce the skill roll of the attacker. Ex: someone shoots him with a pistol, and the attacker rolls a 4, the gun kata user can spend two beanies to drop his skill roll to 2, causing him to miss.
And if he has beanies to spare, he could use the rules on hitting the wrong target to have the bullet hit another opponent.
What do you think? It would be troublesome if there was a lot of gun kata user on the field, but at least it doesn't make them totaly unkillable.

I like the beany idea. Similiar to the Style points in Hollow Earth Expidition.
How would the player earn beany?
How many beanies would he start out with?
Would this be combined with bennies?
