I doubt LEGO has took up the licence.
Maybe they didn't, but it will be interesting to see what they do for the new pirates line if they did not take advantage of their new relationship with Disney.
Either way, I think it would be great if they did.

The reason the hair isn't normal plastic is because it's a prototype. The camel in the pic isn't normal plastic either, yet it came out this year. See how that works?
EDIT: Okay, what i meant was that there were pics of the camel not in normal plastic back when the PoP line was announced. I just took another look at the picture and this one does have the plastic camel.

So LEGO is playing cute. "The Brothers Brick" website asked LEGO, here is what they received back:
UPDATE: Julie Stern from LEGO Brand Relations tells The Brothers Brick, “Yes, that is a pirate among the prince of Persia sets. Stay tuned for more details surrounding this 2011 line.”

YAY LEGO PIARATES!
Anyways, I feel that LEGO grouping with Disney is a bad thing, Mainly because I hate Disney as a company (they're the bad kind of evil) but also because I hate peaches, if LEGO becomes "disneyfied" Im going to need to bury myself in my Older sets to stop myself from being exposed to the bullshit radiation.

Disney did not buy into LEGO. If LEGO goes peach on any line other then their movie support lines then that is a LEGO choice not a Disney one. So far, I do not know of any "non-movie" line that has gone peach. Has there been any?
On a side note: What is it about Disney you hate so much?

As far as I know, none of the lines that aren't licensed have been peach at all.
Disney being evil? Just because they have tons of money doesn't make them evil. It's not like they're slaughtering puppies or spreading diseases.

Disney is evil becuase they say their 'corporate values' are creating family entertainment to be enjoyed by everyone, but that's actually bullshit, they try and make as much money out of everything, I feel sorry for PIXAR I give them 4 years until Disney has drained everything they can.
If you don't believe me then look at PotC 2+3 (and probably 4) Their getting crappier and crappier, Disney is trying to make as much money in as little time as possible.

So is every other large corporation on the planet. However, if they were truly only interested in profit, you would see a LOT more crap released.
What strikes me as funny is that they poked fun at themselves and all other big corporations in Wall-E. Buy-N-Large, your one stop shop for everything!

This is true. But then it is true of every studio I know, as well as every game studio, as well as almost every corporation I know.
But back on topic: I do not care why Lego adds more interesting elements to their catalog. I just like that they have added new stuff and could add new stuff going forward.

Insomniac Games?
Personally I'd rather have LEGO's own pirate theme, they're better value for money.
