Roger had a few of his buddy's over for a little bit of poker. They were playing somewhat high stakes (who gets the good seat for the next football game) so they decided to hold on the beer until they were finished. It seemed like a big decision at the time. Little did they know that that was about to become irrelevant.

You all hear a sudden crash. It seems to come from everywhere; the kitchen, outside, upstairs, the bathroom, everywhere except your front hallway and the room you are in. Startled, you run to see if your beer is okay. To your dismay, it has vanished!! Oh, and so has the rest of Roger's house. You run outside, and wonder just what drug you took to be hallucianting like this. Your entire neighborhood is gone, leaving a wide open, parking lot looking kind of space in it's wake. The sky is still light, and yet there is no sun, no clouds, and no blue. It's black and seems to be in war with itself, leaving the world to be in twilight. Behind you, the rest of Roger's house dissapears. You hear a voice:

"You, my lucky little humans, are my next entertainment!!"

The voice makes it sound like a great honor to be this, and talks like a sports announcer.

"I will send you through multiple challanges. Each one more twisted than the last. Before moving on to the next challange, at least one of you will die. At least one. But before we get into the technical stuff, choose your equipment!"

Racks and racks of weapons and armor appear in front of you. "Mad Jack" is sad to see that there is no chainsaw, and Stalin wonders just how anything other than a gun can be a weapon.

The weapons and armor look like things that one would find in a colliseum. Axes, flails, hammers, maces, spears, swords, daggers, etc. The armor simply is of various sizes. Light (leather), Meduim (heavy leather), Little-Bit Heavy (light metal), Big-Bit Heavy (full body suit), and shields.

Choose your equipment.

(you can have one weapon and one shield, or two weapons. You can also store one item on your back. The heavier the armor you choose, the more protection. But also the more limited movement.)

Send orders. Yes, I know it'll be a boring first round. It'll pick up.

EDIT: before this happens, please don't try to pick up two two-handed weapons. You have no Bio-Chips (explained later), and thus no possible way to do so. If you try, you will automatically get a 1 or 2 on your roll.

You all are starting to not like this unseen guy a little.

The racks disappear, and the world to either side falls away. You are left with a passage of ground forward. Nowhere else to go. About 50 yards ahead of you, five goblins appear.
Three of them have a battleaxe in one hand, and a flimsy shield in the other. They start charging at one with surprising speed, covering half the distance between them and you.
The other two ready crossbows, and aim them at you.
