Give the dwarf a nasty burn with the Manors, and if he pulls a weapon, chuck a few Medusas at him.

Hmm, I fully expect the dwarf to not go away regardless of what you do, but since I can't think of anything better. and we've go the pickaxe now anyway.

You can get the dwarf to leave, it just takes a very specific solution. Do they still teach Dwarf Diplomacy in schools these days, or have they been dropped like the Dinosaur Fighting classes?

give dwarf shroom bread in exchange for mining rights in this cave, so you can be both a miner and shroom farmer and not worry about him stomping about anymore.
