Laziness serves a very important function with regard to creativity.
If you rush through a project, you always think of something awesome that you could have added, but now its too late.
If you spend more time on a project, this allows more ideas to be considered. Sometimes the best ideas can't be forced. They just come to you while you are doing something else.
So therefore the more time you spend doing something besides your project, the larger the possibility of having a really great idea.
So really the word lazy should not be used. Perhaps you should substitute the phrase: "receptive to new ideas".
example:
"The Duke Nukem development team is receptive to new ideas"
Well... I'm off to pick my nose.

He can still add anything he wants when it is finished, even some pictures of zombie kittens.Tzan wrote: If you rush through a project, you always think of something awesome that you could have added, but now its too late.
Oddly enough they always come to you in weird places like on the toilet, I'm sure everybody agrees with this.Tzan wrote:If you spend more time on a project, this allows more ideas to be considered. Sometimes the best ideas can't be forced. They just come to you while you are doing something else.
Indeed so it isn't smart to give a date to something that's not yet finished.Tzan wrote:So therefore the more time you spend doing something besides your project, the larger the possibility of having a really great idea.
Receptive to destroy them and humiliate you as much as possible.Tzan wrote:So really the word lazy should not be used. Perhaps you should substitute the phrase: "receptive to new ideas".

Well, if you wait until the end of 2011, my "House Rules" document is going to be just as long/detailed as the '2010' rules themselves look to be. So hey, maybe I can beat you to the punch.stubby wrote:I didn't release BW2005 until the end of 2006, as I recall.

Ha. If it gets to be that long, I'll kill myself. I promise. Honestly, I don't expect any more than a few dozen pages (max), since most of it piggy-backs off of the 2005 (or eventually, the 2010) rules, and only focuses on a narrow band of them at that (those that I care about at all), and never includes pictures or "fluff" descriptions.stubby wrote:My House Rules document was BW2001. If yours gets to be that long, let me know.
So no, it won't ever compare to the 2001 rules in content. But it might end up comparing to the actual additions in the 2010 rules (the things not in 2005) - especially if I have a year to dick around with it.
But I'd rather the 2010 stuff just get done, so I can decide what I actually need to (re?)write myself, and what I'm just going to use as-is.
