Apollyon's Rainbow Keep inspired me to build a castle in the old-fashioned style. For a bit of a challenge I decided to fit it into a 16x16 stud area.
The front of the castle...
...and the back.
The castle is built on two 8x16 plates, and opens up for easy access.
The obligatory catapult.
And some smiling knights to defend it.

So small and yet so functional, it wold make a nice piece of scenery for a battle, whats even better is that you can unfold it and work inside

Oh, i have inspired someone to build something!
I like the nice details and that you can fold it. The castle looks a bit boxy however. Maybe you could make the battlements prortrude on all sides and if you have them add some black 2x2 inverse slope bricks beneath the battlements?

Protruding battlements turned out to be good for many reasons:
It looks better...
...there is more space for the knights to stand on...
...and I could add another hinge, for increased stability.

This is probably the only time I'll call a castle adorable. This is a really nice little build, Arkbrik. Now I think we need to have a vintage castle contest.

Very nice little castle, would work awesome for the Void mechanic in my games- every turn I roll some dice, and depending on the roll some sort of thing pops out that doesn't fit with the theme of the game, allowing me to get more stuff used in my brikwars!(deadly spacemen, castle figs, and even action figures and a stuffed Monty Python rabbit have popped out!)

I like it. (Eee, gads he's quoting Holywood History lessons!!!) The Normans, (...and I'm sure others too but they didn't have a movie about it with Charlton Heston as the lead actor so those losers can go get stuffed) used to make tall towers a little like this that held enough men and supplies to keep the Saxons in line.
See, there is a Norman Tower and Charlton. I think the tower is way off in the distance, I'm sure it's not to scale... maybe Charlton's some sort of Godzilla Norman, Iunno.

Nice build. I like it. I also like that you made it hinged.
Well done.
