This mummy is less of a "realistic" mummy like those in Pharaoh's quest, it reminds me more of a kid dressed up for Halloween. The best part of him, however, has to be the dark red scorpion. I'm also thinking that the head might be useful for a fig that has been healed by a medic.aoffan23 wrote:The only thing I find useful about the sumo wrestler is the trophy. Also, does the mummy look as terrible in person as it does in the pictures? Because from what I see it looks like a giant bag of terrible.

Computer Upgrade Time
Once I get all this stuff my computer will be ready for awesome. I guess I should detail my existing system first...
I have a custom built computer which I designed in winter 2007. At the time it was decent but it wasn't cutting edge. Over the last three years it has fallen behind so now I'm re-doing it once again. So, back in '07 I upgraded my computer at the time and got:
- Intel E6750 Dual-Core Processor
- New Power Supply
- ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard
- 2GB (2 x 1 GB) Crucial Ballistix 240-Pin DDR2 RAM
- ASUS EN8500GT Graphics Card
I already had a keyboard from 1997 and a case from 2002 and a monitor and some incredibly badass speakers I got for my birthday one year. I also had hard drives and disk drives and Windows XP. I'm not sure what mouse I had back then.
Anyway, since then I've gotten a new hard drive (the bigger one of the two I had died) and I've gone through like 3 mice. Never buy Logitech corded mice because the cord will break. It's stupid as hell. I had the MX-510, then it broke. I got the MX-518, then the cord broke. Then I got a Logitech G5, but guess what? The stupid cord broke. (By broke I mean short-circuited.) I ordered a Roccat Kova online a couple weeks but it's not here yet. But I do have a better keyboard now (Razer Lycosa) I got for Manly Santa Day 2009, and I got a new wide-screen monitor. Then late last year I also bought (for freaking cheap!) a new computer case which looks really cool.
So basically, all the external stuff is awesome (or will be when the new mouse comes in) but the system itself is behind the times. But today that changes.
Earlier this week I got a copy of Windows 7 Pro at the student discount price, but I haven't installed it yet. And today after getting paid I finally ordered a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Here's what I got:
Intel i5-760 2.8GHz Quad-Core CPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115067
ASUS P7P55D-E Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131634
4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-pin DDR3 Corsair RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145299
I'm going to be back in business once again. My current setup is okay, but it crashes every time I power it on, so like it boots up, loads Windows, then will crash. It auto-restarts, and then it works fine, but seriously why the hell would it do that? Also, XP is a 9-yr-old operating system at this point. Having used Windows 7 a few times I can't wait to switch over. But in terms of making that jump, like should I do it before I upgrade my system or afterwards?
And I have two hard-drives. The newer one is bigger and faster, but are there merits to putting the OS on one drive and all programs on the other? If so I would be putting Windows 7 on the old drive and installing stuff on the newer drive. Right now that's how it is with XP and I have no problems, I'm just worried about losing data when I jump from XP to Windows 7. Ideas?

Oh right tips.
I had some emergency work today.
When I get new stuff I just buy a whole new system. Then I have a working backup machine with everything loaded on it. I use my machine for work, so you may not need a backup box.
I have never upgraded an OS.
Would it keep the old registry stuff? so no new installs?
Are you installing win7 64bit?
Would you just be carrying over your auto boot problem?
Hard drives don't last forever, you are thinking of putting win 7 on an old drive?
I would just start fresh. Get a new small HD for win7.
Install that with all the new hardware. Get it all working.
Then install all your old programs. Yes its a hassle, I have tons of stuff.
You can then install the old HD to copy over the data to the win7 drive temporarily. I set up a folder named: "z_Dell_2005_Files". It contains all my data from all programs in sub folders. Including email addresses, browser bookmarks 2D/3D art, Autocad, excel, word, game saves, programming, design docs, business docs, also everything I ever downloaded into the downloads folder etc...
Many install programs are then in the copy of the downloads folder. But they are usually old.
You can then install all your stuff on the second drive and copy the data over. Game saves might be tricky since they might be stored in a different location in win7.
I should have the OS on one drive and programs on the other, but I don't. I never needed to reinstall an OS, ever.
I think Photoshop pro users keep the scratch disk of the second drive, but that may not apply to you.
Current machine, December 2009:
Dell studio xps 9000
i7 920
6gb
win7 pro 64bit (I needed the pro to run a virtual xp mode for my old Autocad 16 bit program)
1 HD 600gb (about 450 free)
Radeon 5870
I almost decided to build one, I did spend weeks researching stuff, but bought the dell for $1240. It was on sale for -$300 from $1540. So I basically got the 5870 card for free.

All that about a PC? ...
... I'll tell you about mine now, all it has is most of it's buttons and some other mysterious stuff attached that I know not the true meaning of, I think they're there for religious reasons, I mostly leave them alone in case I anger the computer gods... and it goes wir, wuur, wuur, rrrrrrrrRRR-SKUWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe!!! which I always enjoy when I switch it on.
But that's all I know about my PC... other than it's name, I call it YahBastard. I assume you were talking about PC's anyway... I have to go lie down now.
