MW-1DT Mobile Walker

Post by RoC77 » Fri Mar 18, 2011 1:43 pm

The Iron Maiden, is the 45th's version of a walking tank. Versatile I deadly it takes alot of training to pilot one of these war machines properly!

So, instead of risking these complex units in the hands of greenhorns, they first have to prove themselves in piloting these simple machines.

Originally, one of the prototype units of mech technology, these walkers proved simple enough & resilient enough for use in civilian duty as a loading/construction vehicle, and as a military training unit. Slightly smaller than the Maiden and half as powered, pilots get a similar feel on it's size and movement. It's standard protection against impact damage is strong enough to deflect most small arms fire. And it's arms are rated to be able to use all Iron Maiden size hand held weapons, making it an effective vehicle in a pinch.

This is amazing. By far my most favorite walking tank.

Looks like the emancipator has some competition.

Could you get pics of the iron maiden's construction?

I really like the smooth edging on the armor. It adds some sleekness to the overall chunkiness of the model. This will be a great heavy support addition to your army! I also like the trainer/loader mech idea as well. It reminds me of the ICE mechs from mechwarrior, where civilian/industrial mechs were outfitted for battle.

With this new addition I'd love to see a 45th Iron Maiden and a Scythian Titanus side by side, for rough size comparison if nothing else.

But these mechs are damn sexy, so goddamn fucking sexy.

GOOD ENOUGH TO SKULL FUCK.

One of the coolest-looking mechs I've seen.

I love this, especially the weaponry. Building giant-robot-sized guns is an art form in and of itself.

The Iron Maiden is my favorite... but I feel like I've seen it before. Did you post it earlier?

@ Theblackdog, yeah the Iron Maiden is pretty old, it's first tour was on the Planet Bob battle. It's just gone through some minor changes over the years. I only brought it up to intro the walker.

@Zahru II It can fire 3 minifig weapons or tip 3 strippers with one hand.

@Silent-sigfig I'll try to take some pics this weekend, forgive the quality in advance, I'm still stuck on using my phone cam. The only Issue I see is that the feet use a older unique piece, but I have an alternate that I figured out this morning, that I might try on the walker.

@The Shadowscythe I think Titanus is a bit larger, but I still have pieces to build another maiden, but I also ordered extended click joint links so I might go for a super version of it that might go toe to toe with the Titanus.

@MicVash Yeah, it does look like one of the darkage mechs, I wish I could do a better ICE engine in the back.

@*CRAZYHORSE* I need to dig them up, and the stats for the weapons, I just built the guns last night except for the sub machine gun, so I still have to think up stats for them.

Unfortunalty, I made that mech out of spare parts for the Planet Bob battle, so I never took any profile pics since it was temporary. It's basicaly the Iron Maiden, with plasma cannon's as arms, and gauss rifles as secondary mounted guns.

You can see more of it behind the VTOL.

I think he scrapped that and the tank directly to the right of it. They weren't present in the next battle we had.

*EDIT*
Oh wow you beat me to it lol.
