I found my fine brush and had a play around with much better results. Yes I'm using acrylics and they work Ok provide you're careful not to scrape or scratch at the painted detail too much. I dilute my paints with an artist's acrylic medium which gives good results as it doesn't dilute the intensity of the pigments.
Sealing with an art spray makes things a lot more durable too.

I used to paint 15mm figures.
I painted in the whites of their eyes and black dots.
Its just a matter of practice and having that extra special brush with 3 hairs left.

I used a straight pin that was held in an X-Acto blade holder to do the dots.

Good lord - THAR BE FANTASY OFF THE STARBOARD BOW!

You've gotta be doing something right for you to arrive and not be flamed to hades and back for using megablocks, welcome my friend.

Personally, I wouldn't touch decals or painting with a 10 foot barge pole, but thats simply because I don't have the fine motor skills to do delicate paint work - you sir (or madam, or nun, or cheesecake whore of the seven hell dimensions) have earnt my respect.

While I don't have a fantasy force myself, it is great to see the fantasy corner gradually getting bigger between Zahru's Medivo, yourself and some of the other fantasy work on here.

I am looking forward to seeing more . . . just no more Derp Elves please, they hurt my brain!

I can remember painting eyes on 15mm figures for ancients rules using a three hair brush and a powerful magnifying glass so I could see what I was doing. Then I thought, 'Why am I doing this?' - gave up on working on tiny figures on the spot and went back to the larger wargaming scales.

'cheesecake whore of the seven hell dimensions'. I wonder what a minifigure would look like that had a title like that?

I found some interesting minifigs recently that are going to do really well for creating an army of 'Great Old Ones'. Of course this means that my Elves will have to give Aksinya back and they can't use her as a summoned Titan anymore, but I don't think they really appreciated her very much anyway.

'Masters.'

'Obey me Aksinya!'

Yes I know I couldn't help it, I just had to get the paintbrushes out.

The minifigs come with bows and crossbows, but I might need to figure out something a bit more arcane tech-like especially for them. These are the guys who built the Temple of Argh btw. The Great Old Ones performed human sacrifice by throwing enemies into a bottomless pit and they would be so in awe of the god they would scream his name out loud all the way down.

Do you watch Stargate? You may want to give these guys a Goa'uld-type theme, where their tech is disguised to look like magic or somesuch. These guys definitely fit Anisia better than your elves would, in my humble opinion.

I think you can thank pancakeonions for putting that taboo to rest, for the fantasy genre at least, in his LET'S FIGHT! battles.

I completely agree. They'll also fit in perfectly with any Steampunk/Treasure Hunter/Dinosaur Hunter senarios I might want to play

Have you ever heard of FLESH? It was an old comic book story about people of the future time travelling to the time of Dinosaurs which they would farm like Cowboys and process the meat to send back to the future to feed the starving over populated Earth... until a certain rouge T-Rex got loose and led a sort of Dinosaur carnivore revolt and ate them. It was sort of cool...

It might give you ideas for your stuff?

Well he might be wearing a throat mike and making a general broadcast you know.

Now let's see, can I afford that Dinosaur set yet? Maybe if I take the wings off some of the Mega Bloks Dragons in the meantime.....
