Just a random thought.
Also started working on the Java framewokr for setting up maps for Pocket Dungeon: Online today in Computer Science class, with a little help. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come!
Code: Select all
Goggles of Gnomish Divination: This item may not be used in combat and counts as headwear (may not be worn with other pieces of headgear simultaneously). When used, choose a door in your current room. Then roll a d8.
-= 1: The goggles do nothing and may not be used again until after your next combat.
-= 2-3: The DM reveals the number of doors are in the room (including the one that connects to your current location).
-= 4-5: The DM reveals the number of monsters in the room.
-= 6-7: The DM reveals the number of chests in the room, if any.
-= 8: The DM reveals two of the above, as per player choice.

As a spin-off project from Pocket Dungeon: Online to test online capabilities and using sprites in Java, I've started a text-based adventure game wrapped in a simple GUI.
So far, it's all interface and no functionality, but I'm working on it. From there, just gotta figure out how to create peer-to-peer (or even server-based) connections using Java code, and we'll be set!
I'll keep you all posted.
