Brickville Union Light tank MKVII

The Light tank is used by the Brickville Union army. Although it's lightly armored and can't take out a heavy tank, it's still very valuable to the army. Most of the time they will operate in bombed city's, where larger tanks are difficult to manoeuvre. Even though it's a light tank it's still quite brick-spensive for me, and because of other projects, I can't build more of them.

Side view, thanks to it's relative large roadwheels it can travel fast. Even off-road

Back view, with the engine exhaust

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1305309407m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Front view, the gun can take out another tank with a few hits.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1305309412m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The gun can also elevate, to shoot down enemy soldiers hiding in buildings.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1305309418m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The engine can be taken out. Thanks to this it's very easy to replace one. The only thing they need to do is open the hatch and take it out.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1305309424m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Not very clear, but you can see the helmet of the driver, the tank needs only one minifig. This was needed because of the lack of space. However much systems have been automatized.

As you can probaly see it's no match for a Cobi MBT. Commanders avoid using these in intense tank battles. However they prove to be a solution to replace the role of an armored escort vehicle.

Aww, that's cute. And excellent. I'm positive they have their advantages over bigger tanks.

You have managed to get an awesome tank to a compact size. Well done! It may need some little machine guns on the front to take down infantry, it's a risky job to rely on one medium sized gun.

I like your build very much and light tanks shouldn't be underestimated, if in large numbers, they can prove to be a deadly "pack" that hunts down bigger targets easily

Not to mention they're more difficult to hit. A combination of both is usually the best way to go imo.

this is great. the turret is amazing, great sloping and everything. I think it could stand to be a couple studs wider(the tank, not the turret) as the proportions seem a little off to me

Awwww it's really cute, makes me want to take it to bed and cuddle it.

Seriously though light tanks have their uses and can do things that large tanks can't. You only have to read about tank battles in confined places (narrow streets, in a forest among trees) to realise that a big tank with a big gun can get destroyed simply because it couldn't traverse its turret and bring its gun to bear on its opponent.

I like how the looks balences the larger turret with the body enough not to make it look cartoonish. Great work, smaller tanks would get more battle time than an MBT anyways...

I love this, even for its size it still looks imposing.

Not a bad design, I wish my light tanks were that awesome.

Awwww. And it even has a removable engine! The only thing that would make this better is machineguns for engaging infantry. I would consider those a necessity, actually. But it's definitely a winning design.
