Nothing's moving. You haven't heard anything- screams or the like- in the building so far. The hallway is probably safe to enter.

Arkbrik: Access Internet

[3+2: Epic Success] Connecting easily to the wi-fi, you access the site to check on the latest about the virus. Panicked and calm voices flood the channels, talking about every form of disaster possible. Skimming through, it appears most of the East Coast has locked down out of necessity. Nothing has been heard recently the Canada and North US area, and there are minor skirmishes and lost towns to the West.

Searching for St. Louis's status, you come across a mention of a radio channel that the local survivors are organizing over. The main operator appears to be... Ross. Huh.

501st: Scan for Resource Buildings

[6: Overshot] You lean out over the balcony and take a look around. There's nothing obvious from your vantage point above the city streets, but then you look down. Fortunately, it appears that this hotel is situated above a Walmart! Unfortunatly, from the number of running and shambling figures heading for the doors, it appears that it's about to become the world's most post-apocalyptic Walmart since the outbreak of the Mall-Wreckers Association.

[3: Meager Success] You pull your backpack out of it's hiding spot, only to find that you filled it with trading Lego. Nothing good in there.

You dump the Lego out after a moment's hesitation. You can use the backpack.

[5: Epic Success] You muse over the assorted grungy bathroom supplies that accompany the week-long trip of four teenagers. Not a single toothbrush among them. However, someone went overboard while packing- it looks like the entire contents of the medicine closet was stuffed into a bag.

[6: Overshoot] Under the post is a link to the St. Louis area Emergency Alert channel, 28.28 standard radio. You turn up the volume and click it, only for the website to display a server overload message. Damn.

501st: Head outside

You open the door to the hall. The hall is empty, all the way down to the elevators. All the doors are closed. You can't hear anything.

[6: Overshoot] You tuck the laptop away and decide to strip the lampstand.

A moment later, you are wielding a heavy metal pole, and the TV is cracked down the center. You move out into the hall.

Arkbrik Finds: Metal Pole

501st: Search rooms

[4+1: Epic Success] You bust open a few doors. There's no one in the first two, but a couple is out on the balcony in the third. They turn to see you in the doorway with a gun and react angrily. You move away to the next door.

In one of the rooms, you find a small girl sitting on the bed. She looks up at you blearily. "I can't find Mummy" she says. A 9mm luger is on the bedside table. You rattle the bathroom door. Locked from the inside. Ok, you really don't want to know what happened here. It's obvious that there isn't much on this floor though.

Arkbrik has the presence of mind to take the child to the couple in the other room. The man now inexplicably has a shotgun. He glares at you.

501st Finds: 9mm Pistol. He tucks it into his belt. He doesn't have any space left to carry more stuff.

DarthBrik: Check the balcony

You lean out over the railing, looking around. There isn't much, just blasted concrete and a city in riot. Looking down, it seems that the zombies have gotten stuck at the doors.

Zupponn: Follow 501st

You walk down the hall in the direction of the thumping noise that 501st is making, strumming on the guitar.

"Take this, let's keep that guitar. And keep playing."

Thank 501st for the weapon and keep walking down the hallway after the other two while playing. Glance in the rooms as I pass them to make sure we didn't miss anything.

501st gives the 9mm to Zupponn as the party heads down the hallway. Zupponn sticks in in his belt in a good position to draw and continues playing.

Arkbrik opens the stairs door as the group reaches the elevators. Twenty flights to go, and he can hear distant shouts, but it's the least risky situation...
