Red Guards: Glorious People's Expendable Foot Soldiers

Post by Cpt. Zipps » Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:18 pm

As I have said before, The Space Commies have been updated.

Image

Red Guards are nothing special, cheap to train and easy to arm, they provide enough fire where it is needed.

Image

They are led by fearless Commissars, with SMGs for support fire.

Machine Gun Team.

All glory to new Soviet infantry!

Nice work, I like the machine gun team especially. Crimson Dawn also approves, and would like to offer an alliance to their fellow Communist comrades.

Cool update, nice to see the Commies back. The tall fur hat chaps, they look like Cossacks to me, you should make a Cossack unit too. also, it'd be nice to see a White Russian (as in the drink)... ok, ok so I've been wanting to copy this army for a while now. :D

I'm honored. I just need some horses for some real mean units.

Excellent choice of heads and great figs overall, I love those guys! Very nice army overall. The commie alliance starts to look dangerous.

Gotta love that machinegun.
An army marches on its stomach, and its favorite food is fudge.

Something occurred to me. They're not red at all. They need to have some red elements. Right now they're the tan guard.

Not really. Russia's perfectly capable of being awesome without having to be literal.

I realized I can make a much cooler army by basing them off WWII Stalingrad infantry than with shitty red bodies.

Given Russian casualty rates in WWII, I'd consider the Red Guard to be a very appropriate name.

Really i just chose to make them look like this because I had a lot of rebel trooper bodies and I can get more very easily with battle packs and whatnot.
