Not speaking for Stubby, but it makes sense that they would.
The more you fire a weapon, the better you get at judging where the rounds hit. So over time, you'd be able to hit a target with more accuracy as you're correcting your shots.
This is just speculation, though.

I feel like a critfail should make you have to start over from scratch though.

Makes a lot of sense.

I take it that means one gunner can "home in," then?
This should be in the Rulebook somewhere:

"Any problem on earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives"

I found thisunder 5.2 shoving:
After taking his Angry Inch, the Shoving minifig rolls against the highest Use rating of whatever weapons his is holding, or with a Use of 2 if he is using his bare hands. If the Shove succeeds (and isn't Parried - see the Countering section, below), the opponent is pushed two inches directly away from the minifig.

Just have to say: The gunner rules pretty much fix everything that was a problem with large artillery pieces before, great job.

Other than that: How does a machine gun distinctly become inoperative? a failed attack?

Do you mean when firing full auto and failing your skill check?
well then I gues the ammo belt would brake or it would jam or something.

Also I just noticed chapter 9 is ready to be read, yey!

In 7.4 (which should be 9.4) under the minifig:
A minifig is made of flesh, so his Structure Level is 0...
In chapter 7, it's stated that flesh is SL 1/2.

Yeah Stubby just copy pasted that from the 2005 book.

What the hell! That's not supposed to be there yet. I'm not even sure what draft that was, how did that get up there?

Long time, no see, guys. Neat to see that the 2010 edition is available for viewing. (sort of) Gonna be neat to see it finally finished. Only 3 chapters to go! And even better with more cool pictures than 2005 edition! Oh, my fond memories of that thing...

One thing that always bugged me was the lack of picture by the "explosives" entry. It struck me as strange that all the rest of them had nice long pictures with various samples, and the explosives section had nothing.

Oh, and might I say tat the Brikwiki is sheer brilliance. Wow, I've been out of the game a long time...

Timedude! Damn, it's been a while. Yep, the wiki has come a ways from it's humble beginnings- Warhead gave us a reason to have a galactic plot, and it's developed from there. Got anything new to show us?

Ha, afraid not. My Lego collection has been handed over to my brother with me off at college, though I have had sympathy pains from time to time. May have to pick up a bin of bricks when I head back to college this semester. Well, and co-op some of my old stuff back...

Haven't gotten a game in for a long time, was just sitting looking at my brother's shelf of creations and began to see glorious war scenes in my head. Made me want to pop in and see how Brikwars is doing.

In short? It was time for my periodic 6 month *I'm BACK!* post.

EDIT: 8:44 Central US time.

So, I've been perusing the 2010 rules and it seems they've just grown exponentially since the last time I looked at the 2005 rules. Is this just me? Specifically, the section on combat, especially close combat, this whole expended section in Chapter H about "piloting a horse" or whatever. Stuff like that seems very much more nitpicky and seem to be groaning under their weight. Somehow I don't remember ever getting that feeling reading Brikwars before... Not even when reading the old 2005 charge rules. Weird.

Anyway, just a personal observation. I do like a lot of the other expanded sections. The Hero section is especially nice (though the Manly Santa necrophilia bit was...), and the breakdown of the die types in the MOC Combat section is both humorous and interesting. Best addition, though? The new yellow boxes with particularly good Brikwiki excerpts and associated pictures. Nice.

EDIT: 9:13 Central US Time.

Wait a second... I've been promoted to moderator of the "Lesser Games" subforum?
