Allegiance: Preview

Post by Theblackdog » Fri Sep 09, 2011 1:17 pm

Preview of some of the factions involved in my upcoming forum battle, to be held around Thanksgiving:

Neo-Prussian Empire

Image
Originally I had planned for the AN to fill this slot, but after Bragallot's awesome space forum battle I had to change it. (Sorry Fredde. If it's any consolation, I still have the awesome minimech I built). This faction will be reserved for Bragallot.

Image
The space force consists of one Condor-class fast attack frigate, one Wilhelm-class light carrier, two Mobhunter fighters, and a bomber.

Image
The away team consists of Sky Marshal von Platt, two troops with rifles and spears, two troops with laser staffs, and a droid.

Image
Strike craft.

Image
Image
Ships. They're geared towards shorter-ranged combat with lots of plasma weaponry (only 6" range, but very powerful).

The Britannian League
More on the space force here.
Image
They have fighters too but I forgot to show them.

Image
Captain Harris is back after his recent mishap to lead the Britannians. His Marines have gotten new energy muskets and shields for defense, and the Captain has a cool sword.

The Scythian Empire

Image
The Shadowscythe himself is here to lead the Scythian Empire away team, and their Darkstar-class battlecruiser is one of the most powerful ships on the field.

Image
The sheer destructive force of Scythian weapons is hard to match. Three heavy lasers, a storm bolter, and a rocket launcher provide the away team with massive ranged firepower, and the Shadowscythe wields an OT scythe. Just because of that, I think the two ground forces are pretty well balanced even though the other side has...

Four Goddamn Immortals

Image
Specifically, These guys. They have two warships, a battleship (the Hammer) and a heavy cruiser.

Image
Because the Emperor doesn't quite trust him, Caleb has only limited supplies of Infinity Tech. He's used up an entire decade's stock on the Hammer, fitting it with six plasma cannons (four in the broadside array and two in turrets) and a massive Energy Driver cannon capable of punching a hole in a small moon.

Image
The heavy cruiser has three plasma cannons and two longer-ranged laser cannons.

The Vol

Image
The Vol have a frigate, a destroyer (with some fighter capability) and some fighters.

Image
Vol ground troops are lethal in close combat and always prefer to be on the offensive. They have a flame trooper, two novice warriors with laser SMGs and swords, and two Shock Troopers with OT nova swords and a few neat special abilities.

Image
Image
Ships. The Destroyer is slower than a conventional frigate, but gets an extra weapon slot.
Image
Fighters. The red one is a squadron leader.

limited supplies of Infinity Tech
Oh the irony.

Extremely well put together and thanks for the spot. You rule. Maybe Fredde could still control one of the two ships. What'll be the scenario? We're neutral to Scythians right now but have the same enemies, and they will be welcome partners if we're going up against that, lol.

Fredde never had a reserved slot, I just had some AN ships and troops that I built. He can still get in on the battle if he wants.

The scenario will be two alliances of 3 teams each. Scythians+Neo-Prussians+"other" vs Immortals+Vol+Britannians. As with my last Brikspace forum battle, the ground battle will take place aboard a single ship. Two factions will start off with their ground troops aboard the objective ship, and the other four will start with their ground forces onboard their own ships, so getting them into position to deliver troops will be a major part of the space battle. I think people will be a *lot* more interested in capturing the objective this time, though...

Hey, I even captured my bonus objective, damn you ;)

Looking forward to who my 3d ally will be... and to fight alongside the Scythians after seeing all their microspace stuff, lol.

Yeah, that ship is insanely powerful. Then again the Immortal ships are even MORE so... but I think the third ally will even the game a little bit.

I was referring to my space battle, not yours. The objective was a harmless little freighter, and it ended up getting destroyed. I doubt that will happen this time.
