Ah, hmm, where to start.
First: There's still space available. Worst comes to worst we do two parties.
Second: DnD 4E is still new, and I don't mind answering questions.
Third: A Player's Handbook for 4th edition is needed. It's 35 bucks for the hardcover, or 25 for a PDF from Wizards of the Coast's site. This covers all the mechanical rules of the game: what dice you need and when to roll them, what stats your character has (like a computer RPG), and the like.
To play, simply create a character (there's a nice step-by-step process in the first chapter). During a game session, simply ask "how would my character act?" Then you act it out, a bit like a play or reading. In play-by-post this is easier (IMO), becuase it simply reads like a book when you post (depending on individual style).

Hopefully that helps.Haverman sighs and rests his mug back on the table, eyeing the old man suspiciously. "I see, right. You just approach us at random, and want us to go fight monsters in a dungeon? kinda fishy, says I."
Out of Character: I'd like to roll a Sense Motive check to see if he's lying. I ued the die roller and got a total of 18.
It's a secret to everybody.
That's totally what I'm talking about! I'm down for this style of playing. Lemme know if it's a go, and I'll see about downloading a copy of the rulebook and putting a character together... legally, of course.feuer_faust wrote:Haverman sighs and rests his mug back on the table, eyeing the old man suspiciously. cause you're a girl, and girls don't play DnD. It saw through your clever ruse.

Plastik Armory: a bunch of weapons and abilities compatible with the 2010 rules.

Hey, IV Horseman, read the player's handbook again; I have ADnD 2nd edition right here. It says: A Note About Pronouns: The male pronoun (he, him, his) is exclusively throughout the ADnD rules. We hope this won't be construed by anyone to be an attempt to exclude females from the game or imply their exclusion. Centuries of use have neurtered the male pronoun. In written materialit is clear, concise, and familiar. Nothing else is.
