There will be no Ork scientific revolution. Every project is doomed. ALl Oek scientists sre eaten by Trolls. Any player character who does something even veguely scientific should be horribly destroyed, preferably by a Troll.

The book does, however, mention Ork siege engines.

Re: ORK!
I should have hended out more Ork Points and I should have handed them out immediately. But it looks like I did good with the combat damageORK! Page 38 wrote:You can raise only one skill each session. [...] It costs X Ork Points to increase a skill by 1, where X is the skill level you'll have after the increase. For instance, if you have a 3D8 Fight, it'll cost you 4 Ork Points to raise that to 4D8. No skill can be raised higher than 5 without the use of magic or intervention of Krom,

You have looted the Squishy Men's village and captured many slaves. Some of you also have satisfied their hungry stomache. What do you do with the loot? The arms and armor you took from the corpses are better than the rusty things the shaman gave you. And you've also found other stuff of value: Booze, metal tools, coins.
You can debate about that on your way back to the ork village. What direction was it again?

This is BRIKWARS!Keldoclock wrote:Running a game you don't know the rules of? Madness.
Now that I have read the rules I will use the original names for creatures and skills from now on. Bobbits become Squishy Men, Humans Sour Men.
I learned that there isn't much of a background to learn about. In other words: I can create the world how I want it to be. But do you really want me to write page after page about the principles of human religion or Goblyn folklore. Would you read it? You play Grunk fresh from the pit. You don't know much about the world but that what other grunks and some Orks told you. And you can't tell what part was true and what wasn't.
To make it harder to max single skills I'll use the rules from the book. To affort the higher costs I also will distrubute more Ork Points (OP) from now on.
Dork: Chuck from 3 to 4, 1 OP left
Snork: Fight from 2 to 3, 2 OP left
Spork: - , 6 OP left
Big: - , 4 OP left
Pork: Sawbones 1 to 3, no OP left
Dog, 5 OP left
+++++
Dog howls at the moon *Get one OP*. The noise is answered by some horses and sheep at the next stable who whinny and bleat in fear. Suddenly you feel hungry.
Surely you can delay your departure for a little snack or two, can't you?
The Squishy Men don't understand your language so you need some time to make them understand what you want from them. Then they begin to push the "Thing" according to your instructions. All of you can smell the lovely scent of fear they emmit.
In the meantime Prok stries to stich up the worst injuries of his comrades. To find needle and string in the village is no problem but the stiching is harder than it looks (3 vs.8, 7 vs. 8 and 9 vs.3). Pork inflicts some pain to Spork, Big and Dog, - that is, IF they let him - but only Dog feels better afterwards and the wound on his back stops bleeding. (Technically, all three had lost three points of health of 5. Dog got HP back. After one good night's rest all of you will get back the next one)

Re: ORK!
Sawbones is the official name for the skill Healing. As Bones is the official name for Spunk, Twitch for Fumble Finger and Meat for Muscle.
Oh, and concerning ranged weapons: You have an Ork Bow that gives a +3 bonus to all ranged attacks (as long as you have the proper ammunation). Slings and Bobbit bows only add +2. Maybe the Sour Men or other races have better equipment, but you don't know for sure. There are rumors about enchanted weapons, too, but magic is rare and always dangerous. All you know is that you won't find a better bow here.
Prok lookas at the plants on the roadside in the bright moonlight. They look green. Some of them smell awfully sweet. But you have no idea which one may have medical properties and which one are poisonous. There is only one way to fing out...ORK! Page 30 wrote: The Sawbones skill represents an Ork's ability to act like a medeviasl field medic. This may be a strange choice for a Bones skill. After all, what does being tough have to do wirh big needles? The answer is simple: Orks learn by operating on themselves. As you can imagine this is encredibly painful, so only the toughest Orks learn enough about injuries to be any good at it!

Re: ORK!
Are you talking about movement speed (that would be Running) or Initiative during combat? That is determined by your Twitch (formerly Fumble Finger) and is not easy to improve.Scottsman wrote:I wanna use those OP on jumping and climbing. Is there anyway to make myself faster overall?

Pork tortures some Bobbits. He learns much about pain and how to inflict it. He also learns what to do to stop bleeding without blocking the bloodflow in the respective limb completly. Some plants show some immediate effect: the skin turns red and forms blisters or swell up. You find nothing with healing abilities. Maybe they need more time to show effect.
Finally you are leaving the raided Bobbit village with rich booty: Food, animals, tools, weapons and armor, a group of eight slaves and the Thing.
It'll easy to follow the trail the "Thing" has left behind when the Squishy Men first brought it to their village. Soon you'll have passed the place where you had left the road to take the shortcut across the fields. Now and then you push one of them to remind them Who Am Boss. It's Snorks turn to tease them a bit wehn there is a CLICK and the "Thing" openes its mouth. At the backside. Thing am strange! You push the Sqishy Men to aside to take a look inside. There are many funny things in there. Things modern humans would identify as a parasol, a picnic basket, some towels and swimsuits, a tube of sun lotion and everything else you would need for a day on the beach. Unfortunately Grunks have never seen such things before and have no idea what they are looking at.
