Welcome, [ERROR: REQUIRED FIELD BLANK]! Use caution when you look for decent Ripoff Lego overseas. Reasonably Clever covered a good portion of the really, really bad market in their Toybox of FAIL series. But, y'know, whatever it takes to have a war.

In any case, a year of lurking means you most likely know most of us better than those who just join right out, so the in-jokes are already yours. Good to have you as a member, though.

Thanks for the tip but I wasn't trying to imply I thought they'd be of good quality. My neighbor's son has a few and they look really terribly made but the price seems about right (I think some mid-sized sets are only about $10 or so). And like you said; anything to have a war.

Dude, I highly reccomend you direct yourself to the Scythian Galactic codex in the Armory page - I started off with pretty much pure LDD like yourself and then slowly but surely brought all of my main units in brik form. As of right now I'm not sure where I stand in comparison to a lot of the other forums numbers, but I stand at ~

- 40 Marines (with another 40 in storage awaiting inidivual mini bases - so 80 all together)
- 10 Engineers
- 3 Hardsuits (with one as my Hero)
- 5 Infantry Support Vehicles (My armys own Legged version of the Jaguar Armored car)
- 1 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (Tank with lower powered spam-guns and light Apc capacity)
- 1 Battlefield Technical Support Vehicle (Its small, fast and has a "Stub" mortar style gun for wiping out fortifications)
- 1 Main Battle Tank (My army features legged tanks and lots of lasers)
- 1 Mecha (It's about as tall as two tanks and has guns for arms - enough said)
- 1 S.H.H.D.T (Super Heavy/Hover Death Tank - twin barrelled main gun, lots and lots of smaller guns, carrys 20 troops into the field and IT BLOODY WELL FLIES. Seriously, what else do you want?!)

I am currently working on a ground support Air wing and a surprise that I am not showing anyone until it is bloody well finished - but I managed all of that in the space of a year (having been here for 2 . . . or something like that) from LDD to brik - and thats not an accomplishment many can say.

So get your arse into gear and build mate - I need an adversary (Other than Warshed!)

Dude, you realize that Design by Me is being discontinued in January, right?

In any event, one of my weakest area's is bulkwork, so don't expect any vehicles out of me for a while.

I usually spend about £100 (roughly $160 at current exchange rates) at a time on my lego habits - usually 3 or 4 times a year, If I prepare my parts lists well in advance I tend to buy in bulk (I brought all five cockroaches - the Jaguar comparison unit at once so I not only had a full squad of five, but I only had to make one parts like through pick-a-brick and then order that five times).

Through LDD you can export your instructions as HTML files, and those files contain a full parts list in the very last frame, so it is blindingly easy to make sure you have the right number of the right parts, in the right colours.

Being employed as a baker helps no end - but I still have to save until I can afford a bulk purchase.

That's respectable Shadow, 500 USD is certainly not bad when compared to how much people can spend on video games or movie rentals.

And it's good to know you can get a parts list, though it would suck if the only color a certain element for a black Mecha comes in is salmon...

Oh wow, that's not nearly as bad as I had imagined you were paying for an army like that... good to know that greatness is actually relatively affordable!
