Thanks! They're not really hardsuits — they're about 3.5m tall. A human at this scale is 2 bricks tall. There's a guy in the chest, riding in there like an enclosed motorcycle. The inspiration for these guys is VOTOMS, if you want to check out some excellent oldschool anime. It's based on the Fatty in that series. You can also check outs Soren's Rumble Monkeys, which are inspired by the Scopedog:

There's more where those came from in the Flickr group.

It's not so much I want to be hazed, it's that I sort of expecALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

So their more like small mecha? Anyways 3.5 meters is about the upper practical limit for mech designs before they start to become overly tall targets for...basically everything...so its good. Anyways I'm glad there's another futurama fan on this site. Lastly whats your avatar?

Yeah, they're that size because it makes as much sense as you can make with giant robots. The idea is that they're small when viewed from the top, unlike a tank, and can pick themselves up out of the rubble and keep going, like infantry. They're supposed to be mighty infantry for tight, gnarly, often urban terrain where you need to climb and duck a lot. They're no smaller because it would make buildings too big for most players. We want you to be able to build a city for a few bucks on a Bricklink store, and this makes a single story building 6 bricks tall, which is a convenient size.

My avatar is a Scopdog from VOTOMS, the show that's an inspiration for Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack 001. Check the link above for more. The show has excellent plotting, OK characters, amazing, awesome design, and some of the worst actual artwork you will ever see on television. But the rest is so good you'll look past it.

Are there people who aren't fans of Futurama? How can they live in The Future and not appreciate such an excellent documentary series?

This is amazing. I've always wanted to build some good power armor or exosuits but I suck at it.

Nah. Even simpler than that. See the shoulders on the other guys? It's just one more 1x1 round on top of that.

Yeah, Heavy Gear is also directly inspired by VOTOMS. Legend has it that they were actually trying to make a VOTOMS game and didn't get the license, so they went about it their own way.

I thought everyone on these forums was a fan of Futurama.

These robots are awesome, because you could fluff them out as super-drugged out warriors full of steroids and genetic engineering, kinda like Size 2 minifigs. You can just see all the little minifigs looking up to these blood-soaked juggernauts.

Yeah, those space marines were crazy hot.

Unlike Silverdream there, whose insults were as cold and dry as his vagina.
