I am a mastercraftsman
I was bored this morning, so I made something awesome. You would not BELIEVE how many half-finished tiny website fragments I have. This is one more.
Here it is!
Here it is!
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

Re: I am a mastercraftsman
I like it.
Things I like:
The cult pic
The writing
Kitten Baron
That red-orange color goes well with black
Things I don't like:
"This is a self portrait" is pointing to the brush strokes
The brush strokes are too rough, They don't need to be perfect vector lines.
I get you were going for brushy, but you got messy lines, not well designed artistic brushy lines.

I thought the brush strokes were the self portrait. Have you ever seen cults paint?

That's what I get for trying to paint with a mouse. :/Tzan wrote:Things I don't like:

I really don't know what I was going for there. Any suggestions for filling up the big empty space at the top of the screen?

Re: I am a mastercraftsman
Yeah I noticed the straight segments, so I figured you were using a mouse.
Doing casual abstract art is harder than it looks.
You might try sticking to vector lines, I'm assuming the cult is vector.
Use the red color and make a horizon line that bends up and around an outline tree shape and then a house, bush etc..
One single line, then it goes behind the cult up 1/3 from the bottom of the cult.
don't fill those with color its just a red line on black.
You might use a slightly darker red for the line, so its pushed back.
Of course how to arrange the elements on that horizon is a design thing.
Lots of ways to go wrong there, so sketch it out 10 ways on paper first.

I changed the top thing. Let me know what you think.

If you got rid of the text at the top of the page, I think it would look better.

Re: I am a mastercraftsman
NICE!
I like the curvy bit on the left end.
You could extend the horizon line to the right of the cult.
Its fine now.
One thing you might consider is removing the right cloud, this groups things left a bit more, or just slide things over to the left.
Just the clouds. The tree and bush are fine. Things seem a bit too evenly spaced.
But its really fine the way it is, its just an exercise so you can see how it balances vs the cult and opens up more negative space.

Re: I am a mastercraftsman
I moved the clouds a little bit, and I think it looks better now. All I have to do is write the rest of the pages.
Thanks for all your lovely suggestions.

Re: I am a mastercraftsman
Maybe you could incorporate the "This is a self portrait" in between the clouds and the kitty? Maybe as part of the image?
