After the first wave if you just sit at the upgrade screen and apple keeps falling on your head.
So your fractional score keeps rising toward infinity and beyond.

I did play up to the dragon.
I did notice you could go down.
But then I quit when the bugs started shitting on me and the task switched to typing.

I didn't learn anything about fractions and because I didn't want to learn how to type I quit.
