what the hell were they thinking!!!!! Lime green LIME GREEN, Blue helemts BLUE HELMETS!!!! These guys aren't from some flower-power-pansy-loving-5yearold story book. They should keep with the blacks, browns, greys. they are supposed ruff, tuff and dirty. I think the lego companies, end of year booze up is still going.

Thilly creationz, green and blues are for wins! If you want a drab army clad in gray and brown, you go ahead. Then when the epic armys of blue and yellow come for you, they'll show you the power of REAL FASHION!!!!

Seriously man, colors ftw. There should be at least one bright color in each army's color scheme. Black is cool, but paired with another color is unique. Gray is sweet but combined with yellow looks sharp. Honestly I don't really like those battle reports of a gray army killing a brown army. Give me good ol Red vs Blue any day.

Of course, these designs are teh suck. I love the shapes but I hate the colors. Lime green and orange? Ugh. I'll admit, they should keep things more drab and dirty when it comes to miners. Rofflemayo, you're right, they are the pansy miners. They look like they came from a trix box. Blueberry blue helmets LoL.

I agree with your reasoning Adean but these are NOT ARMIES they are just a theme of which lego decided to bring out and did a terrible job doing so. The colours, design, and sizes should fit the theme, all of which the lego company failed. That is what they try to teach me in design classes at school, which make perfect sense. Like someone said earlier (sorry can't remember username) they look like some cheap imitation of rock raiders made by some poor child slaves - and that is the result of not fitting it back to the situation.

At the least they could have yellow diggers/machinery cause thats what colour contruction/demolition vehicles are painted - which again links it to the situation.

I think most people would have a big waa if they brought out pink and purple bionicles (assumining you liked them initially). Because pink and purple don't fit the idea of bionicle.

The overarching purpose of design is to identify a goal and achieve it, and Lego's goals aren't always the ones you'd expect. Often when you see stuff like this it's because they've targeted the sets very specifically to a limited market segment and have focused all their market tests and focus groups towards maximizing sales among that segment (in this case, five-year-old Zoolander fans). But one of the side goals you don't expect is to decrease sales in other themes' market segments (in this case, normal people), to minimize cross-competition and keep enthusiasm focused within the segment.

It's not really a policy I agree with, since I'm more of the opinion that all Lego themes should support each other, but what do I know.

Also, I completely just made all of that up. But there really is about a 100% chance that the designers made good sets and all the boneriffic colors and features were shoehorned in as a result of the targeted market focus groups. As a direct example, I can tell you as a fact that the Knight's Kingdom characters were not rainbow-colored before they went through the focus groups.

In my mind, barbie pink and fuchsia fit the idea of bionicle perfectly, they should totally just admit it and take the line in that direction. A couple rainbow tie-dye ones wouldn't hurt either.

well that makes sense, but still is stupid, they obviously don't want anyone over the age of 8 to buy their products, but I personally think that they should bring out pink bionicles hence why I said "assuming you like bionicles" as I think bionicles had their 15 secconds and its time to move on.

well I think that they should have a target audience, but if there is obvious interest from other audiences they should cater for it. but still LIME GREEN, I still can't get over it....
