I originally went strictly Laser Weapons, because the idea of laser weapons sounded kick-ass. Now that I've gotten further, I'm regretting it because the laser weapons are considerably weaker, the strongest laser weapon I have is the Laser Rifle, which is 16 or 17 damage, while my strongest Small Gun is the Combat Shotgun, which is 29 damage.

With the lasers you are relying upon getting a crit which burns them up, and is awesome.

Yes, vaporization is always awesome. I just read that lasers ignore armour, which accounts for the lower damage. Apparently they get a lot better later in the game.

I saw an NPC patrolling an area with a gattling laser. I think NPCs get unlimited ammo. I followed him around a bit because he was blasting stuff and I looted for him. Then sold the looted stuff to him, one stop shopping :)

My guy:

Level 4.5

Big guns 25
Energy 45
Explo 23
Medicine 42 stimpak +54
Repair 35
Small guns 80
Sneak 22

All others under 20

GunNut x3

Hey post your Medicine skill and Stimpak heal. I'm wondering if I wasted points there.

Medicine is pretty damn important, but holy balls is repair worth the points.

Medicince is defintely one of the best skills to have, I think, asides from the main weapons ones. I'll post my stats in a minute, but they suck because at first I tried to balance them out, so now I'm pretty much a Jack of All Trades, and a master of nothing.

Quite frankly, it's incomparable to Half-Life 2, because HL2 is a linear FPS, while this game is an open-ended RPG, with FPS elements . They're two completely different games.

As for S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I only played the first game for a few hours, but Fallout 3 certainly does feel similar to that, albeit less hardcore and intense.

Stupid bug / exploit, you decide

I met the armor caravan and wanted to buy the 18 point armor, after the transaction it read as 13. I reloaded from last save and investigated.

It was messed up, whatever you bought went to 13 after exiting the transaction.

Buy 3 of the cheapest armor, exit, and the 3rd suit will be changed to 32!
Then sell the other two back.

I probably wouldnt bother posting this because it is exploity. But all I wanted was the 18 point armor and they wouldnt sell it to me. 13 points isn't a big enough gain to give up the +5 small guns on my old suit.

That's a wierd bug, I have to try that :P

Actually, I'm fine with my Talon Merc armour (I think it's 16 points).
As for weapons, I'm having great luck. I've found 5 or 6 miniguns, as well 3 missile launchers (sold all but 1 each). I also just found a flamethrower and sniper rifle, on top of purchasing the Rock-it Launcher schematics.

Searching for a decent game in my brother's pile, I found this one called "Fallout".

I then supposed this one you're talking about is a sequel to this one.

So what do you do in this game? I might try it.

Well 32 is better than 16 :)

Sniper Rifle
FlameThrower
NucaCola grenade plans, I made one, 308 damage I've got parts for more.
Minigun

No missile launchers yet, But I have found missiles.

I havent really used the big guns yet. I rely upon 10mm pistol/smg and chinese assault rifle.

Do you use the Rock-it launcher for the mini-nuke?
I havent saved up enough yet, I save my weapons for repairs.

Well its an RPG game. You follow a story, do quests, kill stuff.
Start it up!
