“This is Soledad security forces to Orbital Command. We have detected an unidentified ship approaching landing pad X-15543. Groundside would like to request reason for failure of notification from Orbital Command.”
”This is Admiral Rathnashyam confirming that all orbital sensors and defense platforms have returned negative for this IFF. I will forward a report on this security oversight to the office of the Navy Chief of Staff. Observe and be prepared to engage with caution.”
A police bot approached the ship as it landed and opened its bay door.
“All non-Citizens and Level-0 personnel are restricted from this area. Please identify yourself with a photo ID and submit to a genetic scan at the checkpoint.”
The soldier walked out of the security booth to greet the mysterious stranger.
“Good afternoon. If I could ask you to remove all metallic items from your person, including keys, loose change—”
In an instant, the stranger produced an array of weaponry.
“Holy shi—”
Before the guard could finish his sentence, the stranger gunned down both him and his robotic assistant.
”This is Soledad security requesting backup. We have a security breach on landing pad X-15543.”
Trattorian reinforcements streamed in towards the landing pad, taking aim with their guns. The stranger discarded her USA M16 in favor of an Assyrian heavy laser.
The soldiers’ effort was for naught, as less than an eyeblink later the stranger had perfectly gunned every one down.
“They never learn” the stranger remarked, shaking her head as she advanced.
