Attack on Andelmere (Round 5)

Round 5

I think I forgot to tell you guys this got delayed so much because I had to resit a couple of exams, sorry about that.

Andelmere Guard - Brikguy0410

Image

Uriz slides down the ladder, eager to get vengeance for Sarga.

Image

He starts off well by decapitating one crossbowman.

Image

Another crossbowman comes down from the walls and together they shoot a spearman.

Image

Halberdiers form up and try to push out of the city. The skirmishers skirmish themselves to safety (all but one), the others stand their ground.

Image

I was only going to take pictures of the guys that actually managed to do something, but none did so I was forced to take another pic of this fight. Shamefur dispray! (can we get an emoticon for this? That would be nice, thanks)

Image

Maybe the bloodknights that are heading down from the keep will be more effective.

Water demons - lordintype

Image

Swordsmen ignore all foes and start heading deeper into the city.

Image

Fat Olaf promises to give everyone as much water as they want.

"Water...?" Kath'os repeats distrustfully.

Image

WHARRGARBL

Image

"No! Not the water! It's in my eyes! My eyes!"

Only Kath'os is able to resist the highly successful feat.

Image

With the defenders either dead or gone, the water demons claim the fishing hut, which is worth one victory point.

Image

Kath'os cuts a halberdier down as he's trying to leave...

Image

But it's not enough to stop the water demons from claiming the prison house, gaining them another victory point (and favour from Cales, who is sure to take notice of such deeds).

Sir Jason - lawmaster

Image

Jason rips his sword free from the dead mage's body and attacks.

Image

Rather than using the sword however, he somehow kills the both of them with pelvic thrusts.

Imperial Guard - Scratch

Image

A crossbowman makes sure Sarga is dead. "Looks dead to me," he says.

Image

One of the crossbowmen brikwars enough to leave the walls is killed with a charge. Will the spearmens' rampage ever end?

Image

Sir Jarvis falls to a simple footsoldier. This has been an underwhelming performance for the knights of the realm, to say the least.

Image

The other knights manage to at least not get killed, while imperial crossbowmen fail to shoot any halberdiers.

Image

Come to think of it, all of a sudden there's not that many imperials left, and another one loses his life on the south wall.

Kath'os - Zahru II

Image

Whirlwind slash! The other water demons are probably lucky they moved (well, save for that one guy), Fat Olaf is knocked away and disrupted, though his fat protects him from the damage.

Scallywags - Zupponn

Image

Haircules swings the prison gate around powerfully, but it slips from his fingers before he can aim it properly and it flies off, probably never to be seen again.

Image

He then jumps on the boat and kicks Psycho Dad with a whopping 16 damage on a 1d6+1 roll, knocking him out cold (Psycho Dad defeated).

Civilians - Alex

Image

Laris' guards form a second line of defense behind the halberdiers.

Image

The civilians try to lynch Sir Jason, but he's protected from their swarm tactics in the house, so they can only go at him one at a time, and that doesn't work out so well.

Image

The cleric tries to cast a holy shield to defend the halberdiers, but it fizzles.

Image

Laris isn't the type that likes to fight when outnumbered. He whistles. It's time to call upon his thugs - the same brutes he uses to harass the townsfolk.

Image

Unfortunately, it seems they've become just as disloyal as the urban guard!

"You should have paid us more when we asked you to, Laris," one of them grins as the thugs advance towards their former master, brandishing their swords and maces.

"We'll take our chances with Cales."

Draklon Raiders - Battlegrinder again

Image

Archers and nightmare catapult open fire, killing one swordsman on the walls.

Image

With an amazing feat of agility the matriarch leaps onto the walls...

Image

... where she kills a knight with a fell swoop. One sees an opportunity and stabs her in the back, but can't penetrate her body armour.

Image

Okay guys, really? This is getting old. Sir Alamar is blindsided by some spearmen and charged down.

Image

At least Marcriss the Unyielding survives. As the last remaining KotR, his stats get promoted to that of a full-fledged hero. Not that it helps him kill one of his assailants with a counter or anything, noo-o.

Image

The skirmishers don't have much luck trying to charge the pike wall. One of them impales himself on it and the others find their weapons are too short to reach their foes.

"Stand back," the flamer says. "I have just the tool I need to solve situations like these..."

Image

Sometimes Brikwars is just way too predictable. The flamer crit fails and burns two of his own men instead. Doh.

Image

Not to worry, elites are already charging in to replace the fallen.

Image

The raiders appeared to lose interest in the farmers, until all of a sudden their dragons swept down and set fire to their home...

Image

Whoosh! The dry straw catches fire all too easily.

Image

"You want to keep your pathetic little hovel? Fine, you can die in it!" the matriarch bellows, preparing to cast a barrier that will deny the peasants escape from the inferno.

Image

Her spell backfires and she's trapped in a magic barrier instead.

"Goddamnit... Every damn time..."

Image

"Screw this," the demonspawn and final pirate say to themselves, thinking the city a far easier target than the farmhouse.

Peasants - Kommander Ken

Image

It does the pirate little good as he gets shot down by a peasant before he can get away (forgot to picture this). The same fate befalls an imperial soldier.

Image

Aware the Draklon raiders like to set fire to stuff, the peasants had prepared some buckets of water. The certified badass elder works to put out the fires like a madman, which probably isn't too far from the truth.

Image

He succeeds, for now, but he only has a few buckets left, and the dragons... Well, they don't run out of fire so easily.

Knights of the Realm - NPC'd because Silverdream is busy with university

Image

Marcriss tries to use his newfound heroic powers to wreak some havoc... and accomplishes nothing. Perhaps it would be better if someone simply put the Knights of the Realm out of their misery.

You can send orders for Marcriss if you want to, I don't expect him to last very long though. He's a basic hero with a shield and heavy weapon. Heroic feats may be whatever knightly feats seem suitable.
