Show
What a boring show. There were 3 arcs based around the 3 main assassins in the show. Arc Ein, Arc Zwei and Zrc Drei. Basically Arc 1 is about Reiji learning to be an assassin and his feelings for Ein for 10eps. Arc 2 is Reiji being the new Phantom and killing everyone and being a "cool guy" while he has a relationship with a loli (sort of like Leon). Ac 3 is him and Ein reuniting and fighting Scythe Master and Drei (the loli from before). Then everyone dies. I don't know why people seem so into this show (as silva claims) it's just a ho-hum action show about murderers. I'd rather watch Taxi Driver or Leon or Dirty Harry. Absolutely nothing interesting or unique going on here except that the loli somehow gets giant boobs after 2 years.

Re: Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions

I made a new top 16, using only symbols. Can anyone guess them all?
Overall I'm still thinking about changing some things around in it. It's hard to choose my favourites, when there are only so many anime I've rewatched.

I met a guy at a party who questioned why I liked Dig Dug more than Holy Trinity, as he didn't think Dig Dug was very good, dismissing it as a usual hot-blooded ground digging based anime. I don't think he really understood the symbolism in Dig Dug or the themes explored in it.

Re: Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions
DigDug was the first explorational anime that excavated the joy out of the purest dirt.
The anime was groundbreaking in that it broke ground in ways that no anime has done since.
It was created years before the Minecraft anime "Where's my chest?".
People who are seeing DigDug for the first time automatically think its a ripoff of the Minecraft anime "Dig a hole Doug!.
But DigDug was animated back in the 1980's, which surprises everyone, considering the modern themes of dynamic world building that are explored.

No, it's not Cowboy Bebop. The anime it's from doesn't have any symbols aside from the title, so I used the image from the highly symbolic ED.IVhorseman wrote:Is that tear rolling down Faye's cheek?

Seems like one pic is from Ping Pong the Animation and another is from Steins Gate. Amirite Silverdream?

EDIT:
First Five Episodes report
Even if you don't respect my taste in anime, I would definitely recommend this for watching. It has a good amount of blood and plot, and doesn't begin to loop endlessly after the first episode (I thought 5 was going to begin that awful cycle, though). Action and animation is fantastic, writing (dialogue) is great, and if you don't fall in love with Chaiko within three episodes, something's wrong with you. She does speak like Mordin from Mass Effect 2-3, though. Anyways, fans of CLAMP's artwork will be right at home in Hitsugi no Chaika (Coffin Princess).
Akari for best girl.
9/10 Total score
Also, I would like to request the FFE (First Five Episodes) become mandatory when suggesting anime for a month, so you can get a proper feel of the anime and keep people like me or Colette from punking out and quitting after 1-3 episodes.

If you can't watch a 12 ep show there's something wrong with you. Even if you don't like it you may as well just finish it since it's so short.

Re: Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions
Just finished a few shows this season, so I thought I'd give my thoughts.
Terra Formars isn't really worth watching, in my opinion.
Selector Spread Wixoss (MadokaXYugioh) is actually a good sequel to a subpar first season. I watched it because I wanted to complain every week with my friends, but I actually enjoyed it, even though there were lots of unintentionally funny moments. This for example:

I think what made it better is that it cut most of the card games out. Wixoss' card game battles were really boring and badly done because you have no clue what's going on until someone wins. By focussing on the characters, it's actually interesting and entertaining.
