Best girl is the sister.
Best boy is the fat guy with the spear.
Best part was when the sister was the best.

I agree Silverdream, white Chaika is undesputably the best. Sister is funny but I don't like her design.

Re: Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions
Captain Earth: The basic idea - a super robot anime that draws its aesthetics and themes from space exploration - is a pretty exciting one, and the early episodes had me hyped. But the plot was wildly inconsistent and spent a lot of time on unnecessary bullshit, and although there were moments where it lived up to the epic scale it promised at the beginning, overall it's... meh. The only consistently good aspects of the show are the visuals: the animation, lighting, and colors are some of the best I've ever seen, and it may be worth watching for that alone.

Hanah was a Shinji though. Akari also. Commie stopped subbing it so I dropped it easily enough.

And yeah, Hana is cute. I can see why Daichi was so eager to show her his boomerang.

So it looks like Saazbam has just been slain.
Honestly, I think the talking parts have been really boring so far, and the shooting parts have been okay. Slaine's whole plan seems pretty interesting, and I really hope they go somewhere interesting with it.

The talking parts were just a bore, but this was one of my favorite battles yet. It had the action of the last fight with a lot more tactics mixed in. I liked how the Earth kataphrakts used grappling hooks to change direction rapidly, and they got a lot of creative use in this battle. Also, how can you not love Saazebaum slicing an asteroid in half?
Slaine's plan has one major flaw though. If the rest of the Martians still hate him for being a filthy Terran, wouldn't they make him number one in Saazebaum's death?

Re: Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions
That's the problem with trying to analyze this show. Maybe this random twist or stupid plot point actually reveals something about the characters or setting, but probably it's just because the writers wanted to shoehorn in a cool scene or move the story along.

I think the image really speaks for itself. Now, finally, the one true deconstruction has been discovered. Behold, it is Sonic. gotta go fast!

So Black Chaika just shoved her dead Dad's body parts into her vagina with her tentacles?
Overall it was a pretty satisfying anime, even if it was cliché. I didn't like how easily Frederica was written out or forgotten, but I thought this was a fun, fantasy anime with an interesting setting.
Also, I might have to steal the idea of magical satellites for my Bavarians.

Aldnoah S2 E4

Is anyone else annoyed by the fact that all of these characters got more development during the time skip than they did over all of season 1? Slaine goes from an indecisive wimp to a Lelouch wannabe, Marito gets over his PTSD (BTW, the doctor offering a bottle of whiskey to a recovering alcoholic was really dumb and ended up having the opposite of the effect the writers probably intended) and Inaho becomes slightly more emotional... and all of it happened offscreen. Way to go, Aldnoah.
The Kataphrakt battle was OK I guess. I would have preferred they cut it to spend more time building up Slaine's destruction of Trident base. That should have felt like a big deal, but it was thrown into the last few minutes as an afterthought.

To be fair about Slaine, he was always one to take action, but he wasn't one to do long term plans. For example, he shot the evil guy right away, he snuck into the communications room and contacted the Emperor to tell him Princess Asseylum, he stole a plane right away and when he thought he could trust the Count he admitted that Princess Asseylum was alive.
