Quadrarian Saga Season 1 (Encounter 3)

Re: Quadrarian Saga Season 1 (Encounter 3)
Arburst frowns. Having most of his available troops taken out in the encounter certainly was unexpected, but the Wartirnian Mercinaries have successfully carried out their employer's objective.
"We're done here. Troops, withdraw from combat. With have other buisness to take care of."
The interceptor and the mech fire at the Rhakashi and evil mastermind before leaving (The mech using it's heavy minigun). Arburst fires his assault rifle and handgun at sly blue nad the fusion core while leaving the battlefield.
(In case Arburst gets attacked, he will pull off minor maytricks stunts (bullet dodging, super speed, vice versa) as a heroic feat if nesscessary)
The Wartirnians are withdrawing from the encounter

It is, isn't it? It's especially fun being DM, so I can laugh at how incompetent everyone is, with full knowledge of what's in store later.Zupponn wrote:This game is highly amusing.
ENCOUTER 4 TURN 2
#1

You flip out.

Landing successfully, you decide to deploy your ingenious 'helicopter manoeuvre'.

It seems physics is in short supply around these parts.
Congratulations, you are now airborne.
Dimmies

The dimes stare accusingly. 'That's not fair,' their sad gazes seem to say. 'You can't fly off like that. You're not my friend anymore.'
END ENCOUNTER 4 TURN 2. SEND ORDERS FOR TURN 3 NOW
ENCOUNTER 3 TURN 4
Bravo

You use Minor Shadow Walk to get behind the Merc.

You decide to also take a shot at the mech, but miss hopelessly at the extreme range.
Sly Blue

You get behind Chan, take a shot at a Merc, and miss.
Guy

Unwilling to face Death a second time, you 'advance away from the enemy' (as M-Thronians never 'retreat'). Unfortunately for you, this presents you with suitable targets to fire at. Instead, you resolve to advance at a faster pace.

Exit Guy Stage East
Chan

Party's over, might as well leave. You follow Guy, but can't quite match his pace in your heavier armour.
As Sly Blue is hiding behind Chan, he follows him as he moves.
Parts

You raise an arm in protest. Oh, the injustice!
Arius

You tactically assess the situation from the relative safety of the plane's supporting pillar.
3rd Regular Army Deserters

The plane attempts to outrun the Wartirnian Interceptor, but its supporting pillar cannot move as it is obstructed by Arius!
I dare you to guess what happens next.
3rd RAD Heroic Space Ninja Assassain

Pausing to receive orders from HQ, the Space Ninja uses Major Shadow Walk (heroic feat) to reach the plane's wreckage. You prepare to annihilate any hostiles advancing on your position.
Yes folks, you heard right! The plane crashed. How novel.
A note on defaulting: At the time of publication, Bad Wolf had not been online for a month. As such, I judiciously have defaulted her character, and will try to not get him/her killed. In exchange, the defaulted character will act in the best interests of their parent faction (if any), and whenever possible will take the most amusing/compromising course of action. If Bad Wolf would like to claim the character, he/she can be found at all major drugstores, for two and sixpence. Thankyou. (In other words, send orders to claim the character)
Mysterious Mastermind of Enigmatic Evil

You open hailing frequencies and request a truce with the Wartirnians. In the interest of mutual benefits, you ask his assistance in clearing out the scum that is the other myriad factions of this backwater planet.

Arburst asks for a 50/50 split of any profits.

You remind him that you make a living off this. 60/40 is the most he'll get.

Arburst is more than happy with that proposition. "It's a deal."

You then diabolically direct your rhakshi to collect Parts for later use. See what I did there?

You fire at the ninja with all the skill and firepower your diabolical super-powered genius self can muster.
And you miss.
(Guys, remember that hitting stuff outside your weapon's range incurs a major skill penalty. That's why no-one's hitting anything at the moment. Just keep that in mind.)

While blasting away, you call to the other heroes, extending an offer of work placement, under yours truly, with the express intent of ruling the world. Good wages, paid holiday leave, company car included. You could also be eligible for early promotion to Trusted Lieutenant, the character most likely to betray such an individual as yourself. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Also, remember that you're the one with the Giant Mutant Rhakshi, so any negative responses will have to be worded delicately.
Wartirnian Mercenaries

5 more mercenary grunts turn up.

Two fly over to babysit the Ninja, but one has his head blown off for the trouble.

One attempts to retrieve Archie's flamer, but finds it missing. (The flamer there used to be the mounted gun from the Halftrack. It isn't/wasn't ever Archie's flamer, fyi.)

He is joined by two other mercenaries, who open fire on Chan and Sly Blue. Sly Blue is headshotted for massive damage!

He drops the fusion core, which falls into the abyss.

Sly Blue is down.

The Interceptor attempts to Kamikaze, but while in the dive finds no suitable targets.
Observe the crash of the 3rd RAD fighter, as this is the best picture you'll get of it. Also note the supporting pillar, which has remained in position regardless.

Archie and the mech cautiously move away from the demo charge. They inspect the occurrences happening in the East.

Archie is not amused.

P.S. While the Fusion Core has fallen into the Abyss, that doesn't mean that it isn't irretrievable. You could attempt to find it by descending into the depths, but be warned: the Beige Carpet bends space and time. So other methods of finding could work just as well - if not better.

What the heck.
Nothing happened like it was even remotely intended to. How nice. Thank you, GM. And dice.
The two guys next to Bravo shoot him at point-blank range. The two guys behind Chan move up and open fire. Sniper fire is also to be directed at Chan. The third trooper jetpacks down into the abyss to retrieve the fusion core.
The trooper flying towards The space ninja does a signature jetpack maneuver and fire at point blank range at Arius.
The mech fires the minigun at the demo charge, destroying it. Any other reinforcements that arrive will fire at the remaining heroes after they get as close as possible to them.
Arburst looks around at his surroundings, taking in the mountain scenery as his men carry out his orders. He calls out to the Mysterious Mastermind of Enigmatic Evil.
"I feel like a some cold beer, how 'bout you?"

Sprint off into the east, firing a shot behind me if I can get off the side without needing to sprint, sprint otherwise. Also, this is why you should have given the core to me.
The only unflawed system is Lego System.

Actually, yeah, I agree. It would be awesome to be murdered by a badass cyborg supersoldier henchman hellbent on revenge. You know, eventually.
In the meantime, I'm looking for a way to retrieve that core. Maybe something with magnets?

Someone's not keeping track of the number of feats they've used.Silverdream wrote:At least I did a bunch of cool stuff before I died.
Also, Quantumsurfer asked about the state of being of those who leave the field. For those who have left, if you could give a statement of intent for where you want to go and what you want to do off-field, that'd be great. For example, you could say, 'head East aimlessly,' 'try to find passage North and attempt to locate the Wartirnian base,' 'meet up with Avius, then head East searching for settlement,' or really anything that floats your boat. From there I'll string you into another encounter. In the future, people will do this once they leave the battlefield.

The Wartirnian Mercenaries take in any capable fighter willing to get some quick money and earn some extra skills. The pay (redeemable at any self-respecting bank) could add up to enough money to be your ticket off planet.
Take to note: the Wartirnian Mercenaries are currently in a short turn contract with the Evil Mastermind of Enginatic Evil, meaning that joining the Wartirnian's means you're temporarily taking up on 'DevinCp's offer.

Re: Quadrarian Saga Season 1 (Encounter 3)
Calling back to the Wartirnian commander, "I would love a beer specifically maniac beer. Let's meet at your base after I finish mopping up any one that has not sworn fealty to me yet."
Mysterious Mastermind of Enigmatic Evil then turns back to the heroes that are fleeing calling out, "The offer to join me and my evil army of rackshi will only last a few more seconds all those willing to join make it known or face my wrath."
I will then have the rackshi move towards the edge of the map then turn back and use my heroic feat to set off the detonator charge causing it to explode thus clearing the wreckage. Then I will shoot at the ninja if he is range if not then I will fire at anyone that is in range that has not sworn fealty to me yet. using my SNdice to up skill and damage. Also the Rackshi will attack anything in range that is not on my side also.
My plans for what i will do with the body that I collected will be revealed at a later turn. However, know that it will be diabolical and you will be able to exact your revenge if you serve me well.
