Yeah, that's no coincidence, they were an inspiration for my original version that Natalya based her upgraded model off of:

I think droid in the original colette's version is more suitable for army building since it can stand fixed on a baseplate and easier to pose in a action scene.

On the other hand Natalyas design would be cheaper to build because those black hinges are cheaper than the minifig utensil pieces colette used in legs.

Natalya wins in posing and cheapness. Sorry Kaplan.

For starters, fuck tracking down wrenches. I myself only have 2-3 of them, and they just don't stick. The arms are identical to Colette's original, and the legs are more easily bendable and actually fucking stay on. In addition, the robot can look like it's actually walking / running and not goose stepping everywhere.

I built a droid myself inspired by these bots:

Wow guys I'm really surprised by all the attention this got.

I originally intended to duplicate Colette's droids, but when I realized I didn't have enough wrenches I redesigned the legs to do without them. I also tried to add a bit more gold and I changed the head.

I greatly prefer the way I did the legs because they won't fall off as easily as the wrench legs would, and they are more poseable. It is regrettable that they don't have attaches on the bottom of the feet, but that's why I bulked them up. I think the bulky foot design allows for some leeway when posing them. You may have seen in the third picture in OP they are able to stand on a flat surface without anything holding them up.
