And it turned upmediocre, whre is exactly the surprising part? What he did for a living ie. animation, is not at all bad, so why call him out on sucking at his work? Also he is dead, so maybe we should show a fleck of remorse or something. Heck what do I expect
after all...
I couldn't come up with anything smart, original or funny, so <=THIS=> is what you get.

It's cool he made money off his stuff and I'm not happy he died. Still don't have to like it. If you're in the public sphere though you're open to criticism.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica was always an anime ahead of its time, but episode 3 is really what puts it head and shoulders above the rest.Silverdream wrote:Also, I found this interesting: viewtopic.php?p=189356#p189356

Aldnoah S2E10
Spoiler
Show
Another major problem with this show is that every buildup thus far has led directly into an anticlimax. Case in point, Inaho's eye: we've been shown hints throughout the season that it's hurting him and taking over his mind, but in the end all it amounts to is that Inaho's consciousness is temporarily replaced by an AI that retains his memory and acts to carry out his goals. How does this change anything? Inaho was practically a robot already. Also, I was hyped for a fight between Barohcruz and Harklight and the Earth forces, but apparently they'd rather devote screentime to Crutheo's son who still doesn't have any reason to be in the story.
And also, the main characters with pistols are better shots than the trained commandos with automatic weapons, who can't hit stationary targets in a narrow corridor. God this show is dumb.

Re: A Discussion of Edgy Deconstructions
Some thoughts I had on the Manga Guide to Calculus (thanks ib!). Overall not as instructive (or accurate) as the one on Linear Algebra, but it covers the basics and readers should walk away with a workable qualitative understanding of calculus they can build on by reading actual math books.BrikWars Chat wrote:<colette>: I read over the Calculus one today to see if it was worth recommending
<colette>: it had some insightful examples, in particular I was glad to see the oft-neglected economic applications of calculus
<colette>: but it had some errors or leaps in logic
<colette>: there was one particularly glaring sign error in the integration example
<colette>: which is bad, b/c sign errors are the most common math error according to studies
<colette>: another time it evaluated a limit while skipping/neglecting to mention L'Hôpital's Rule, which would be necessary for its proper evaluate
<colette>: *evaluation
<colette>: the explanation of trig function differentiation wouldn't be clear to someone learning calc for the first time, since it sort of glosses over the minus sign
<colette>: the analogy would work much better with hyperbolic sine and cosine
<colette>: I commend the inclusion of a partial differentiation chapter and introduction to multivar
<colette>: it really tries to cover the traditional three semester of calculus
<colette>: the emphasis on applications was good, stuff like the Douglass-Cobb equation to make the subject relevant to ordinary readers
<colette>: I liked the intent behind the Gaussian integral example of the application of Taylor series, since it is an obvious one, but I felt it could have been more straightforward
<Silent-Sigfig>: yeah
<colette>: that being said
<colette>: the protagonist was too tsundere
Re: Martial arts and their representation in Anime
I dunno much about anime, but some fight scenes in Detective Conan are alright (that's just my view.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4IfWgHa2mk
I found that in Detective Conan, fights aren't very frequent and they're pretty short. On occasion, slightly exaggerated to add to the hilarity or seriousness of the fight.
The fight in the link above is rather funny if you know what actually happened. Episode 745 for reference.

The Nuitage
It's finished. All of Nui Harime's scenes in Kill la Kill as well as a small speech by myself.
This sig is too fucking large: show anyway

Re: The Nuitage
Is there a dub? I couldn't find one, so I had to watch it subbed. Also Nui is the most hateable character I've ever encountered. Those guys at Gainax know something, if they can make me hate someone more than Gendo.
