Finally! I won the Ebay auction for this a while ago, but the package was shipped across the states to my town, failed to deliver for some unknown reason, and then was shipped back to the seller, and back again. A wide variety of castle and terrain bricks, three horses, red saddle for another horse (allowing for another Dragonblood cavalry unit), a bat, gold chunk, baseplates, trees, and most importantly a black original lego dragon with OT Wings.

After watching a video comparing older Bionicle sets to the new ones, I bought a few. Specifically Kopaka, Lewa, and Tahu.
They're pretty decent figures. They have good proportions and they feel pretty solid. And I'm really glad they brought gear functions back. Their masks are pretty reminiscent of the original ones from 2001 too, so that's cool.
A couple complaints though: Kopaka's mask doesn't really wrap around his head as much as I'd like, and Lewa doesn't have a lot of range of motion for his head due to a cluttered neck area.
Maybe this is nostalgia talking, but Lewa is my favorite of the three (he was my first Toa). He doesn't have a lot of bulk on his shoulders, and is just generally nice to look at.

^0o^ Birthday loot!

Actually, since most of it consists of almost the ENTIRE new Pirates line, Birthday BOOTY! ARRRRR!!!

Obviously, I haven't finished building the big new pirate ship, but the other pirate sets are all built. I just need the Chess Set and the "Juniors" set and I will have them all!!! Muahahaha!

Also got some minifigs from the last couple of series, some Chima crocodile battle packs (not shown here), and various other things. Apparently, telling my friends and family that I want Lego for birthdays and holidays has paid off!

The Double-Decker Couch set from the Lego Movie is amusing - not a big set, but more minifigs than a lot of larger sets have. At $15, you're basically paying for 5 minifigs and getting the couch and that odd smart-car build for free! :)

I know! They're AWESOME! I'm actually REALLY happy with them! Well thought-out sets, nice detailing, and a fun build!

*IF* I have to nitpick, there's not a lot to complain about. The sails are only printed on one side, which is a little odd, since some of the old ones I have are printed on both sides, but there's enough I like that I am willing to overlook something that silly.

The sets are a good blend of old and new building styles for the Pirates line.

The Brick Bounty is an excellent build! Lanterns are still the same three-piece build and the hull parts are the same, but there are newish pieces for the mast assemblies and the spars for the sail mounts are much studier than the ones on the Black Seas Barracuda, for example (not to mention easier to build, made of fewer pieces, and lighter weight). Detailing on the Captain's cabin are nice, lots of angle pieces used to give it a more elaborate look.

Treasure Island, the little pirate base, is kind of neat. The whole skull-theme is a little overdone, but really brings the old line feeling into this. There's a new way of making palm trees using brown technic angles that is kind of neat. This set, along with the Soldier's Fort, makes use of the new wedge plate pieces (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=15706). I kind of like them, and can see a lot of uses for them in the future, especially for more Pirate or Medieval-themed builds. :)

You get the idea, though. They really evoke memories of the original pirate line for me. Minifigs are a blend of old and new parts, and again, really remind me of the original Pirate sets. I notice they did a new sculpt of the old Pirate bandanas. I kind of miss the old ones, but the new one is cool too.

My plans right now are to rebuild all of my older pirate ships. I've got the Black Seas Barracuda about half-rebuilt. At some point this summer I plan to invite some friends over to have a massive naval battle on the living room carpet, which just happens to be blue.
