Turn Three

45th Union (Played by Scratch)

Image
The CHUB, wanting to rid itself of its pesky foe, fires a shot in the EVA's general direction.

Image
The EVA will no longer be a problem.

Image
This guy still insists on staying put (reaction fire enabled).

Image
The Medik-bot, having made it to the AA gun, attempts to override its controls.

Image
Success! The turret comes online, targets the ATLAS mech, and fires.

Image
Unfortunately, it ejects the ammo drum instead, knocking over the Medik. It will take 2" of movement or an action to get back up.

USSSR (Played by Sir Sporktimus)

Image
With a twist and a turn, the Baron makes way towards the ladder...

Image
And that's as far as he'll get. His body is not as it used to be.

1st Mobile Support Unit (Played by Vami IV)

Image
Having had enough of busting up the city, the ATLAS grabs his rifle...

Image
and fires. Who needs to aim when you have auto-aim?

Image
The round blows right through the thinly armoured CHUB, igniting its fuel tank and toppling it over.

Image
The fire luckily doesn't detonate the warheads, which are lying right next to it.

Image

7th Platoon + 105mm Field Gun (Played by M220)

Image
The marksman opens fire upon the militant, however his shot goes wide.

Image
The heavy decides to set a different pace.

Image
Dropping the launcher, he runs...

Image
jumps...

Image
and lands right on the militant's chest, winding him and knocking off a hitpoint.

Image
The Commando and the ODST move up.

Image
The ODST finishes off the militant.

Image
These soldiers hold their position...

Image
and the corpsman digs into a pizza.

Home Guard (Played by Valiant[Silverdream bowed out from the game])

Image
Frustrated with their apparent lack of success, the armoured militant gets up and rounds the corner.

Image
He unloads a clip into the ODST, knocking off a hitpoint and sending him reeling.

Image
It will take 2" of movement or an action to get up again.

Image
This bloke fires at the ATLAS but fails to penetrate its armour.

In the midst of this chaos, the distinct roar of an engine is heard...

Image
The GA90E Gladiator has arrived!

Today I come with sad tidings. Operation: Landgrab will have to be cut off short, due to myself not being around home as often this summer. A thank you to all the players who participated in this battle, and for the wit with which they unleashed their destruction. I will be posting an epilogue in the next day or so, so this battle won't be left hanging. On a side note, when I do forum battles in the future, they will be smaller as to not take up as much time and energy on my end.
Thanks again for playing!

Epilogue:

Even though the Gladiator has been defeated, the UK is in grave danger of losing their footing. Having lost most of their men, the remaining soldiers of 7th Platoon are holding out as long as they can. Will it be enough?

Image
Using combined fire and a 6-pounder cannon, they militia open up on the ATLAS.

Image
After receiving several critical hits, the ATLAS goes down hard.

Image

"Sir, we should retreat now. Our situation is about to(*Bang!)-"
Image
"What? Oh, shit..."

Image
Ducks behind the fallen MCR unit.
"Alpha-wun, this is Charlie delta, over"
"This is Alpha-wun, send message, over"
"My position is about to be overrun; is there any backup coming?"

Image
"Backup? There should be a Bulldog APC heading towards you right now..."

Image
As the soldiers voice trails off, the roar of an engine is heard above the gunfire, and the Bulldog APC roars into view, the machine gun firing.

"Bulldog's here, Charlie delta out."

Image
The Bulldog's machine gun opens up, making quick work of the militia.

Image
The Baron decides to flee the scene.

Image
The infantry dismount from the Bulldog, and head into combat.

Image
They proceed to make quick work of the remaining militiaman, however, the Baron teleports away before he can be taken down.

Image
"Oof!"
Picking himself up, the Baron heads over towards the nearby cosmodrone.

Image
Reaching there, he finds a ship suitable for interplanetary travel. However, it is property of the 45th Union.

"Good afternoon, my fine fellow! Would you mind if I took your ship for a spin"
"..."

Image
Firing his pistol, he swiftly takes down the lone guard.

"Sorry old chap, but there was no easy way to do it."

Image
"Time to leave this forsaken place."

Image
With the interceptor in the air, the Baron makes his exit from the planet.

Epilogue:

Image
Having successfully captured the city, an armoured patrol makes their way towards the FOB(Forward Operating Base).

"Commander, enemy interceptor at our ten o' clock!
Image
"I see him. Do you have a target lock?"
"Yes sir."
"Then let him have it"

Image
"Missile away!"

Image
"Oh, what a lovely day we have today, what a-"

Image
Having taken a direct hit to the engine, the interceptor screams and collides with the earth.

Image
The Baron is no more.

And with that, Operation: Landgrab comes to a close. Stay tuned for future battles!

Any particular reason for the sudden finish?

Nvm, it was a well done battle, I got to hand it over to you.
