Dwarves march up, the defender's last shot takes out an ice belcher and damages another one. Blaze takes down a basher.

Wulfgar - RedRover



Wulfgar rushes in and finishes off the ice belcher that had any shots left.

Rime Grizzlies - Brikguy0410



The Valkyr swoops down and joins the battle.



Grizzlies deal 1 hp damage to the last norseman.



The belcher crew attacks Wulfgar but fail to land in hits.



The Alpha attacks the Defender, dealing 1hp damage to it.

Thorbern and the Norse - lordintype



The last norseman kills the last bearzerker.



Thorbern buries his ax deep in the Alpha's neck, dealing 1 hp damage to it.

In a desperate attempt to bring the behemoth down, the defender rushes at it and overloads, destroying the golem (the crew jumped off). This valiant effort takes off another hp from the Alpha.



Dwarves kill a grizzly while Blaze wounds another one.

Wulfgar - RedRover



Wulfgar disposes of two grizzly warriors with a whirlwind slash.



He moves towards the Valkyr but fails to hit.

Rime Grizzlies - Brikguy0410



The Valkyr flies up and knocks Thorbern down the Alpha, dealing 1 hp damage.



The Alpha then bashes Thorbern who is now down to his last hp.



Bashers nearly take out Blaze, but he is saved by a redshirt.

Thorbern and the Norse - lordintype



Thorbern tries to get up and fight back while the last norseman aids him. Neither of them can accomplish much unfortunately.

Thorbern charges and strikes deep into the cold heart of the Alpha, killing the beast for good.

The Valkyr attempts to finish off Thorbern; luckily he is saved by a redshirt.



Same cannot be said for Blaze who is out of range; he is defeated by bashers.

In a swift act of vengeance, the dwarves storm the grizzlies and dispose of them.

Thorbern attempts to attack the Valkyr, but misses.

Thorbern: 'It is over, monster!'
Valkyr: 'Ah hah hah... to think you have won. So foolish. So naive.'



The Valkyr gathers strength to unleash a deafening wail...



Everyone paralyzed, only Thorbern has enough presence of mind to cut the creature down for good.



Thorbern: 'That should be the end of it. Are you alright Blaze?'
Blaze: 'Ugh, I'm a bit knackered lad - but it takes more than a few bashes to this thick skull to crack! We won by the looks of it though.'
Wulfgar: 'No - the Valkyr was right. This is not over yet. Listen!'



The battle weary party all look at the frozen cave - faint but slowly amplifying growls and noises can be heard from the cavernous depths.



Thorbern: 'Curses - the fiend must've stirred the rest of the grizzlies from their slumber early! Defensive formation! We will hold the line!'
Blaze: 'Quick lad, scrounge whatever you can from the defender!'
Wulfgar: 'No.'



Thorbern: 'Say what Wulfgar?'
Wulfgar: 'I said no. You are all worn out and weary. Your people need you alive.'
Blaze: 'What shall we do then lad? They'll be pouring out soon y'know!'
Wulfgar: 'We will bury them!'



Wulfgar: 'I will hold up the frozen tide while you blow the cave up.'
Thorbern: 'But that's suicide! You will be trapped with the grizzlies!'
Wulfgar: 'No. They will be trapped with me. This is my path, Imperial. With the grizzlies sealed, our lands will be safe. You can hunt own the stragglers. You can guard this place. But for that the grizzlies must be contained.'



No more words are needed. The warriors silently bow before eachother.
Blaze: 'Aight, it seems we have enough powder for one shot!'

Soon after:



Wulfgar: 'TREMBLE YOU MANGY BEASTS BEFORE THE WRATH OF THE SLAYER! RAAAAAAAAAARGH!'



Blaze: 'Now!'

As Wulfgar descends into the bowels of the earth, the dwarves fire their last mortar round. Brittle stone and ice cracks and crumbles, causing the cave to collapse, leaving only a pile of frozen debris behind.



Thorbern: 'I will make sure your people will know about you, Slayer.'
