
In this game you will take the role of a peasant in Filthville. It will use the RPG system Stubby posted here.
Here are the different ranks and roles for your convenience. I've added a new role, the Mechanik.Stubby wrote:Every minifig rank has a story template with blanks that have to be filled, and to achieve a rank you have to fill those blanks during the course of a single battle. If you take the promotion, you get a bonus for situations that match the details of your story.
You only get one story at a time; you can't keep piling on bonuses for completing the same story multiple ways. It's possible to advance through multiple stories in the same battle or even skip ranks if you're lucky enough.

Mechanik
Story: "I built a functional [NEW CONSTRUCTION] with bricks from a [FACTION] construction I wasn't supposed to be using. Functional meaning, it killed someone."
Bonus: d10 Skill when Constructing or Patch Repairing [NEW CONSTRUCTION] objects or when Disassembling [FACTION] objects.
- Examples:
"I killed a bunch of ASSYRIAN troops with a TANK I stole."
"I sank two PIRATE ships when I commandeered the DECK ARTILLERY."
"I smashed the MAJISTIKS' power crystals with the dead ogre's GIANT HAMMER."
"I built a TANK with bricks from a broken MOCIAN catapult which ran over a knight and killed him."
Rank 3: Idiotic wrote:Officer
Story: "I entered battle with a full [SQUAD TYPE], and I got the rest of them killed when I [DID STUPID THING]."
Bonus: d10 Skill when leading a [SQUAD TYPE]. Instant Benny when [DOING STUPID THING].
Hero
Story: "I'm famous for wrecking my own team's [SOMETHING REALLY, REALLY VALUABLE] when I [DID STUPID THING]."
Bonus: Instant Benny for wrecking any more of own team's [SOMETHING REALLY, REALLY VALUABLE]. Heroic Cliche is based on [DOING STUPID THING].
Leader
Story: "[ALLIED FACTION]'s forces got completely wiped out in this battle because I [DID STUPID THING]."
Bonus: Bonus d6es turn into d8s when used against [ALLIED FACTION]. Instant Benny when [DOING STUPID THING].
- Examples:
"I entered battle as part of a GUNNERY SQUAD, and I was the sole survivor after I SHOT THE EXPLOSIVE AMMO SUPPLY."
"I'm famous for knocking over THE STATUE OF LIBERTY because I wanted to USE IT AS A REALLY BIG JUMP RAMP."
"The DWARVEN defense forces got completely wiped out because I COLLAPSED OUR OWN CAVE."
You start the game as a Rank 0 Civilian. There are ten to choose from.

"I am a FARMER. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for FARMER actions.

"I am a FISHERWOMAN. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for FISHERWOMAN actions.

"I am a BLACKSMITH. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for BLACKSMITH actions.

"I am an INNKEEPER. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for INNKEEPER actions.

"I am a BARMAID. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for BARMAID actions.

"I am a BARD. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for BARD actions.

"I am a BEGGAR. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for BEGGAR actions.

"I am a VILLAGE IDIOT. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for VILLAGE IDIOT actions.

"I am a WISE WOMAN. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for WISE WOMAN actions.

"I am a THIEF. I hate my job."
Bonus: 1d6 Skill for THIEF actions.

Their equipment is a single Tool (Use 3, Damage 1d6-1).
Objectives
This is a sandbox style game. Things will happen that suggest objectives, which you can try to achieve, or ignore if you have something else you want to do. You can try to work together with other players or do your own thing as you please.
Death and respawning
If your character dies, they will come back to life at the end of the turn if either:
1. There are no other characters with a higher Rank
and/or
2. There are other characters with a lower Rank
This means that as long as everyone is a Rank 0 Civilian, everyone will respawn after dying. But when at least one character hits Rank 1 or higher, characters with Rank 0 will no longer respawn!
If there is a Rank 2 or higher character, Rank 1 characters will respawn only if there are still at least one Rank 0 character. And so on.
Rank 3 characters will always respawn.
A dead character drops all their equipment and crawls 1d6" in a random direction before respawning.
End of the game
We'll see. Maybe when everyone left is Rank 3. Or when there's only one character left.
Signup
Post which character you want and come up with a name for him or her. When every character is claimed I'll post a Turn 0 with the initial situation.
