You now have the same piece of text twice in chapter 5. Right below the Close Combat Engagement header and the Close Combat maneuvers are the same paragraphs.
Also it is not so clear if a active minifig only draws counterattacks from the units he attacks or from all surviving opposing units he is locked with in combat up to a maximum of three, even when he didn't attack them on that turn.

Whoops! Fixed.

Question: Why do we still call this version of the rules 2010? Wouldn't it be better called something like V2.0 or Explosion Version or something?

It's BrikWars 2010 because it's going to be released in 2010.

Duh
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

Stubby, when will chapter eleven be added?
Or will it be saved for a revamp?

I have play tested the new Close Combat mechanics quite a bit and I must say they flow very nicely. The only problem I find is that a fight between for example two equal groups with handweapons and shields will have a very hard time killing each other because its so easy to block for them with either their sword or their shield. The only times kills happen is when there is overskill or when there is a critical failure. Not a big issue just something i noticed.

Another thing I noticed is that dual hand weapons are very very good because it is nearly impossible to fail on your parry. I felt as if the two handed weapons are kind of being left behind in effectiveness. Yes they disrupt their foes on successful hits and are able to penetrate heavy armor but they feel so cumbersome to maneuver around and the fact that they only have one hit means they are easily parried and counter attacked.
It just doesn't feel right every time a minifig saves his ass by blocking a giant ass halberd with his dagger, especially because of the new +1 to parry against two handed weapons they just become so easy to block. I almost feel as if the rule should be that it requires two hands or a shield to block a strike from a two handed weapon. This would mean that a minifig needs to brace with both his short swords to block the halberd strike and a minifig with a heavy weapon needs to use both his hands to parry with his spear of course if he has a shield he can use his shield single handed.

I don't know, its more that the two handed weapons feel very cumbersome which is fine as it adds to their flavor but they are just so hard to get into the fight that you wish that when they do get into a fight they are a true powerhouse and now they just feel a little underwhelming for the amount of effort it takes to use them effectively.
They should feel slow and very dangerous instead of slow and oké.

Remember, though, that parrying only cancels one die of damage, and 2H weapons have two. You can execute the most beautiful parry in the world and still get decapitated.

One-on-one, guys with sword and shield have a hard time killing each other, it's true - just like real life. Shield battles and heavy infantry engagements were battles of attrition more than anything else. The reason you put a shield guy up against another shield guy isn't to kill him, it's to pin him down so that your other forces can maneuver into position to take him out while he's occupied.

This is where the maneuvering game comes in. You can win 3 shield guys vs 3 shield guys if you outmaneuver them into three separate 3 v 1 battles.

Point taken. I still feel that the +1 to parry two handed weapons seems random and unnecessary.

Also, i it true you can sill charge with non charging weapons but you just don't get to spend your MOMs on extra damage die?
And do shoves disrupt when successful?

A parry is a kind of CC attack against the incoming weapon; the +1 is the standard bonus for a target size of 2" or more.

It's not as important against 2H weapons - if you try to parry against them you'll usually succeed with or without the +1 - but it's essential for close combat between larger creations. If I'm a giant robot parrying a 4" sword with a 4" sword of my own, I need that size bonus to make it possible.

If you don't want somebody to parry your guy with a 2H weapon, hit him with two guys with 2H weapons.

Right now it's just set up for charge attacks with charging weapons; you're not set up for most kinds of swung-weapon attacks when you're running flat out. A sprinting shield bash would probably work though.

Shoves against minifigs successfully disrupt, and you can shove with a shield one-handed, so it's a good strategy for those shield vs shield battles.

Okay that makes sense.

Hmm okay, because sometimes I feel that when it comes to heavy weapons a spear type weapon just turns out to be so much better then a sword type weapon because of all the bonuses gained from being able to charge. A spear charge can cover an insane amount of distance and do more damage than a sword heavy weapon. But swords are really cool so I was kind of looking to lessen that gap by allowing charges without added bonus damage. It made sense to me, you can run full speed at somebody and swing your sword at them like a mad men. It's not going to hit any harder though than if you swung it standing still.

Also, even though i know hand weapons don't gain any bonus damage from charging, do charging hand weapons exist? For example I count the the bayonets on my Britannian League laser muskets as hand weapons. Obviously I allow them to charge because bayonets are pointy and good for charging although they don't get any bonus other then covering ground.

I've always treated a bayonet fixed onto a musket as a spear rather than a hand weapon, the same as if you put a knife on the end of a staff.

Spears in BrikWars are just better than swords for the most part. It's one of the drawbacks of abstracting the weapon categories as much as I have. The one exception is when you're playing with the Dismemberment rules; swords chop off a limb when damage matches a minifig's armor, where spears just pin them.

The best weapon of all is a battleaxe with a spearhead. That one can both thrust and chop.

I guess you can also use swords for field surgery in a pinch, but that doesn't come up very often.

Hmm sounds good. I guess that would fill the gap quite a bit.
