Glorious. Question: Can forum battles also be judged in the Hellhunt?Zupponn wrote:This year's theme will be Skeleton War!

Re: The 6th Annual Halloween Hellhunt
I'm not 100% sure. I remember that Natalya tried to enter a turn of Battle for the Head Seperator a couple of years back and we said no. Now, that might be because of it not being a finished battle and only a turn, but it also wasn't made for Halloween Hellhunt. I'd probably say that if you have a forum battle completely done and it was made specifically for Halloween Hellhunt, then sure. I mean, this contest is just an excuse for us all to read a ton of battles after all.

So much hype. I've been brainstorming an idea for days now. Good luck, all!

Re: The 6th Annual Halloween Hellhunt
Idea for the theme integration: make "Skeletal Representation" a separate judging category, also out of 5, and if included divide the points by 6 instead of 5. If not included, the category does not exist.
This encourages good implementation of the theme, rather than just implementation of the theme. A mediocre battle can benefit from glorious skeleton action, and a good battle can be harmed by half-baked skeleton action.
I guess it would be better if the category was "Skeletal Significance." A single skeleton could add a lot more personality to a report than a useless army of skeletons.
Out of curiosity, would Warhead qualify as a skeleton?

It's not clear what kind of body Warhead has. His skull is like 1/3 of a full skeleton.aoffan23 wrote:Out of curiosity, would Warhead qualify as a skeleton?
Instead of splitting hairs with what kind of skeleton category we want, why not just call that category "Ossum." I think that covers the spirit we're looking for

Re: The 6th Annual Halloween Hellhunt
Or, we could just use the current Overall Appeal category to judge theme representation. It could also be renamed to something like "Ossum" or "Theme Representation" or "Pancakes".stubby wrote:Instead of splitting hairs with what kind of skeleton category we want, why not just call that category "Ossum." EDIT: I quite like this idea, so here is what I came up with:
If we want to rename the category then let me know. I'm personally fine with leaving the name as it is.7. We're going to try something new this year and include a theme to Halloween Hellhunt. This year's theme will be Skeleton War! Skeletons are rising from their resting places to do battle in the name of Mr. Skeletal and they can't wait to get into the fight! Your skeleton use in your battle will be judged in the Overall Appeal category. Cleverness, prominence, and awesomeness of your skeleton use are key factors for this category.

And triple post, but fuck it.
Zahru has kindly offered his services for judging since nobody else seemed interested. I'm taking care of the secondary judging. We have our judges. Now we just need our battles.

Re: The 6th Annual Halloween Hellhunt
We are currently sitting at 8 battles! This is now tied for the second highest number of battles in a Halloween Hellhunt with GR 2011! Keep up the good work guys!
EDIT: Also, reminder that entry submission ends at the end of the day on Saturday, so if you were planning on doing a battle, make sure to get it in by then.

Everything went to hell this year but, by god, I was going to participate. I've been saying I would since 2011. For whatever it's worth, I'm glad I got to submit something.

All these good entries, I really wish I was at home so I could throw a battle of my own :'^(
