There is no limit on gun size the Assyrian destroyer Sonks has no launchers what so ever except for torpedoes there is requirement for them to be launchers. alot of vehicles actually and tanks have guns as their weapons instead of launchers.

Launchers would just be more typical of something with explosive shells

It's just... a weapon that size should require at least some sort of ammunition to feed it, for what is a gun but a small launcher? To me, classifying a size 7 weapon that is two studs wide as a gun seems to be taking advantage of a legalistic loophole that doesn't make much sense with larger weaponry.

EDIT: I also know that you would be thoroughly ticked off at me if I decided to replace the Leopard 2's launcher with a size 6 gun, thus granting it unlimited ammunition :D.

Actually i would approve of that because then it would be bound to 6d6 damage rather than 10d6 -_-

Dang it, just realised your point.
Then again, I just looked up the stats of a 7" gun, and voila! They aren't as OP as I thought them to be. Maybe I should conduct more research before blabbing my mouth off...

Also, the Leopard is keeping its 6" launcher :).

Big guns like this, I think of them like the weapons from old cartoon shows like Transformers or G.I.Joe or whatever. They shoot vaguely-defined and completely unexplained energy blasts rather than shells, and nobody in-universe ever thinks to ask questions about it.

If you question the vaguely defined energy blast, you're gonna have a bad time.

At least I can be confident in knowing that my tank has six more inches of range and four more dice to roll with :).
