Brikwars Night
Hey dudes, dudettes, and whatever Colette is. So, I've recently moved states, and while most of my Brikwars battles to date have been forum battles or held with a very tight group of friends, I'm thinking of bringing it down to the local game night and playing with whoever shows up, which is something I haven't done before. So! Any tips for group games/playing Brikwars publicly? Buildable forces or premade? Army size? What's the best way to store bricks? Any ideas to spice scenarios or gameplay up? Just curious what you guys have to say. Thanks!

you should take your shirt off and spit fake blood at people. that'll make everyone really interested in you.

Pre-made forces (and scenarios) for sure, until you have some regulars who are familiar with how the game works. Clear plastic containers with locking tops are a good way to transport bricks, especially if you get a little one for each separate faction.

Army size should start small. Maybe don't even use heroes or vehicles at first.

I think it's good to keep most of the complicated stuff out, but Heroes really sell the game.

Yep, I'm inclined to agree - so many of the crowning moments of hilarity come from Heroic Actions and the like gone wrong. Most likely I"ll go with six or seven small premade armies for a start, along with some basic scenarios, and roll with the core rules until people get a little more ambitious. Minifigs, Riders, Horses and Heroes are all you need for greatness - I'll be sure to get pictures.stubby wrote:I think it's good to keep most of the complicated stuff out, but Heroes really sell the game.
